Re-write the quadratic function below in Standard Form<br> y= –2(x + 5)(x – 4)
Naddik [55]

Answer:

y = - 2x² - 2x + 40

Step-by-step explanation:

Standard form of a quadratic is y = ax² + bx + c : a ≠ 0

Given

y = - 2(x + 5)(x - 4) ← expand factors using FOIL

  = - 2(x² - 4x + 5x - 20)

  = - 2(x² + x - 20) ← distribute parenthesis by - 2

  = - 2x² - 2x + 40 ← in standard form

Name five x values for which the sine function equals to 0. Please help!!
alukav5142 [94]
The five values can be easily found if the value of the first two numbers are known.The value of sine 0 is equal to 0. Now we also come to know that the vale of sin 180 is equal to 0. now if we keep adding 180, we will reach the required answer,. So, the five values are 0, 180, 360, 540 and 720. I hope the answer has helped you.

How do you find the minimum value of a quadratic function?
aniked [119]

The minimum value of a function is the place where the graph has a vertex at its lowest point.

There are two methods for determining the minimum value of a quadratic equation. Each of them can be useful in determining the minimum.

(1) By plotting graph

We can find the minimum value visually by graphing the equation and finding the minimum point on the graph. The y-value of the vertex of the graph will be the minimum.

(2) By solving equation

The second way to find the minimum value comes when we have the equation y = ax² + bx + c.

If our equation is in the form y = ax^2 + bx + c, you can find the minimum by using the equation min = c - b²/4a.

The first step is to determine whether your equation gives a maximum or minimum. This can be done by looking at the x² term.

If this term is positive, the vertex point will be a minimum; if it is negative, the vertex will be a maximum.

After determining that we actually will have a minimum point, use the equation to find it.

Which of these numbers can be classified as irrational
7nadin3 [17]

Answer:

D) 0.87546201023

Step-by-step explanation:

1/2= 0.5 Therefore is rational

Root 16= 4 Therefore is rational

0.7373... is a <u>repeating decimal</u> and is rational

0.875460201023... is a decimal with no apparent pattern and does not terminate, therefore classifying it as <em>irrational</em>.
