r said that three fourths of that time was enough to paint the walls. However, when Karen finished the job, they noticed that it actually took her 2/3 of an hour longer than the time predicted by the mother. How much longer did Karen predict it would take then the time it actually took her to complete the job (what part of an hour)?

Karen started painting the walls at = 9.25 am

she said that she would finish the job at = 2:35 pm

So, she predicted a total of = 5 hours 10 minutes or 310 minutes

Her mother said that three fourths of that time was enough to paint the walls= \frac{3}{4}\times310= 232.5 minutes

When Karen finished the job, they noticed that it actually took her 2/3 of an hour longer than the time predicted by the mother.

\frac{2}{3}\times60=40 minutes so it is=232.5+40=272.5 minutes

So, Karen predicted 310-272.5=37.5 minutes extra

To find it in hours= \frac{37.5}{60}= 0.625 or in fractions it is \frac{5}{8} of an hour

Answer:

Starting time for painting =9.25 am

Predicted time to finish the job i.e painting=2:35 pm

So, total time taken= i.e time between 9:25 am to 2:35 pm=5 hours 10 minute

                                                           = 310 minute

Time predicted by her mother=\frac{3}{4}\times310

                                                =232 minutes 30 seconds

Actual time taken = Time predicted by her mother+Extra time(2/3 of 1 Hour)

                              = 232 minutes 30 seconds + 40 minutes

                               = 272 minutes 30 seconds

Difference in time=Time predicted by karen - Actual time taken

                               =310 minute-272 minutes 30 seconds

                                 = 37 minutes 30 seconds

Converting the result in hour= \frac{75}{2\times60}

                                              = 5/8 hour

marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

<h2>You will ride for 4 hrs 8min</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

What we are expected to solve for that the problem did not expressly state is most likely the number of hours that you could ride for an amount of $65.

firstly we need to model the inequality (equation) for this scenario.

the constant fee= $3 additional fee for helmet

3+15n\leq 65\\\\

We can now solve for n since the above inequality satisfies the condition presented in the problem statement.

 3+15n\leq 65\\\\15n\leq65-3\\\\ 15n\leq 62

Divide both sides by 15 to find n

n\leq 62/15\\\\n\leq 4hrs -8min

gavmur [86]

Answer:

190 Degrees Celsius

Step-by-step explanation:

so first you multiply the

Rate per minute X Minutes

15 X 8 = 120

120 this is the  temperature increase so you add this increase to the initial temperature which was 70 degrees Celsius

temperature Increase + Initial temperature

120 + 70 = 190 degrees Celsius

Margaret used 12 gallons of gas to drive 252 miles. How many miles can Margaret drive with 16 gallons of gas?
nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

336

Step-by-step explanation:

if she can drive 252 miles with 12 gallons, you must divide 252 and 12 to figure out how many miles she can get per gallon. Once you find that answer, you multiply that by 16 gallons.
