What is the relationship between electric fields and magnetic fields

Physics

Relation between Electric and magnetic fields. I've read that both the electric and magnetic field vectors are perpendicular to each other in an electromagnetic wave. Passing steady current through a straight conductor shows some magnetic flux (because most of the energy is wasted into outer space as magnetic lines).

Alexandra [31]

Answer:

37.5 J

Which of these is a unit of measurement of mass?
irakobra [83]
In the SI system of units, the kilogram is the basic unit of mass.

In the 'customary' system, 'pound' can be either a unit of force or
a unit of mass.  The way everybody uses it in everyday life ... like
your weight on the bathroom scale, or the weight of some apples
at the produce market ... it's used as a unit of force.

the other choices:

b).  Newton . . . the SI unit of force, equal to about 0.225 pound

d).  Cubic meter . . . a unit of volume

A ball is thrown directly downward with an initial speed of 8.75 m/s, from a height of 29.4 m. After what time interval does it
steposvetlana [31]

After time 1.74 seconds ball will strike the ground.

A ball is thrown directly downward and information we have-

Initial velocity of ball (u) = 8.75m/s

distance/height (s) = 29.4m

Ball is thrown downward means there are gravitation force also worked and the acceleration of ball is-

acceleration (a) = g = 9.8 m/s²

When ball strike the ground then it's velocity should be 0 means-

Final velocity of ball (v) = 0 m/s²

For getting time period we can use 2nd equation of motion as-

s = ut + (1/2)at²

Now, 29.4 = (8.75 × t) + (1/2× 9.8 × t²)

29.4 = 8.75t + 4.9t²

Now we have a quadratic equation as -

4.9t² + 8.75t - 29.4 = 0

After solving it we get two values of t -

time = 1.74 and time = -3.5

But time can not be negative so we will reject the negative values.

so t = 1.74 seconds

So to conclude that after applying the second equation of motion the time taken by the ball to reach ground is 1.74 seconds.

Assume that a pitcher throws a baseball so that it travels in a straight line parallel to the ground. The batter then hits the b
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

v_f = -25.9 m/s

Explanation:

- The complete question is as follows:

" Assume that a pitcher throws a baseball so that it travels in a straight line parallel to the ground. The batter then hits the ball so it goes directly back to the pitcher along the same straight line. Define the direction the pitcher originally throws the ball as the +x direction.

Now assume that the pitcher in Part D throws a 0.145-kg baseball parallel to the ground with a speed of 32 m/s in the +x direction. The batter then hits the ball so it goes directly back to the pitcher along the same straight line. What is the ball's velocity just after leaving the bat if the bat applies an impulse of −8.4N⋅s to the baseball?"

Given:

- mass of baseball m = 0.145 kg

- Speed before impact v_i = 32 m/s

- Speed after impact v_f

- Impulse applied by the bat I = - 8.4Ns

Find:

What is the ball's velocity just after leaving the bat

Solution:

- Impulse is the change in linear momentum of the ball according to Newton's second law of motion:

                              I = m* ( v_f - v_i )

- Taking the + from pitcher to batsman and - from batsman to pitcher.

- Plug in the values:

                              -8.4 = 0.145* ( v_f - (32) )

                               v_f = -57.93103 + 32

                               v_f = -25.9 m/s

A car is stopped at a red light. When the light turns green, it accelerates up
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

a = 2.5 [m/s²]

Explanation:

To solve this problem we must use the following equation of kinematics.

v_{f} =v_{o} +a*t

where:

Vf = final velocity = 25 [m/s]

Vo = initial velocity = 0 (star from the rest)

a = acceleration [m/s²]

t = time = 10 [s]

25 = 0 + (a*10)

a = 25/10

a = 2.5 [m/s²]
