Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Here's a step by step tutorial on your calculator on how to do this.

Hit "stat" then "1: Edit".  If there are numbers there, arrow up to highlight L1, or L2, or wherever there are numbers.  Hit "clear" then "enter" and the numbers will be gone.  In L1, enter the Practice throws values.  Press 3 then enter, then 12 then enter, then 6 then enter, etc. til all of them are in L1's column.  Then arrow over to L2 and do the same with entering all the Free Throw values.

When you're done, hit "stat" again, then arrow over once to "calc" and #4 should say LinReg.  That's a linear regression equation.  If you have a TI 83, just hit enter and you'll get the equation in the form y = mx + b.  If you have a TI 84 or 84+, you'll need to arrow down to the word "calculate" and then you'll see the equation.

One thing...if you have not turned your diagnostics on, you wont be able to see the coefficient of determination (the r-squared value).  To make sure it's on:

Hit 2nd, then 0.  You have opened up the catalog which lists every single thing your calculator can do in alphabetical order.  The hit the button UNDER the MATH button (x to the negative 1) and scroll down until you see "diagnosticsON" and hit enter twice.

If you need to recall the linear regression equation, hit "stat", then "calc" then either enter or calculate and you'll get the linear equation again and an r value and an r-squared value.  The closer that number is to 1, the better the data fits that model.  I got that the equation is

y = 2.352x - .852 with an r-squared value of .844

To get the quadratic regression equation, hit "stat" then "calc" then choose #5, QuadReg.  Repeat the process to calculate your equation.  Mine was

y=.073x^2+1.205x+2.555; r^2=.855

And for the exponential regression, choose ExpReg (mine is under 0.  Yours may be some other number.  Just arrow down til you find it, it's there!) My ExpReg equation was

y=4.229(1.170)^x; r^2=.833

It appears that the r-squared value is the highest in the quadratic regression equation, so that's the best fit.

babymother [125]

Answer:

Domain = 0≤m≤20 for mEZ+

Range = $100≤A≤$700 for all values of m

Step-by-step explanation:

Initial amount in the account = $100

Amount saved by beth monthly = $30

Amount in the bank after X month = $100+$30X where X is the number of months beth intend to save up to.

The amount in her bank in her first month = $100+$30(1)

= $100+$30

= $130

Amount saved in the second month will be when X = 2

= $100+$30(2)

= $100+$60

= $160

The amount in the bank will keep increasing by $30 monthly until the 20month.

The amount he will have in her bank in the 20th month will be at when X = 20

= $100+30X

= $100+30(20)

= $100+$600

= $700

This means that her money will be $130 in the first month and will keep increasing until it reaches $700 in the 20th month.

The DOMAIN will be the interval of the time she used in saving. Since she saved for 20months, the domain will be expressed as 0≤m≤20 for mEZ+ where m is the number of month she uses to save.

The Range will represent the amount she saved within the specified time and will be expressed as $100≤A≤$700 for all values of m.

Where $100 is the amount in the account initially and $700 is the amount in the account after 20 months.

Lola takes the train from Paris to Nice. The distance between the two cities is about 920,000 meters. If the train travels at a
Vlada [557]

First, you need to convert 920,000 meters to kilometers because the speed of the train is kilometer per hour, 920,000 meters is equal to 920 kilometers. Then, all you need to do left is take 920 (the distance from Paris to Nice in kilometer) and divide it by 230 (the speed of the train), so you will get 4. So you should write the answer like this: "The total time that took Lola to get from Paris to Nice is 4 hours."Hope this help you.

MrRa [10]

Answer:

The cost is the same after 15 video rentals

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total cost be y

Let the number of video rentals made be x

Discount card for Big video = $9.99

Discount card for Main Street video = $20.49

Cost of 1 big video rental = $2.49

Cost of 1 Main Street video rental = $1.79

Cost of video rentals with big video:

Y = 9.99 + 2.49x………….(1)

Cost of video rentals with main street video :

Y = 20.49 +1.79x…………(2)

For the two costs to be equal, the two equations have to be equal to each other

Equating equations (1) and (2)

9.99 + 2.49x = 20.49 +1.79x

0.7x = 10.5

X = 10.5/0.7

X = 15  video rentals
