Vicky grew up with many pets and has a profound love of animals. At the age of 20, she sees a documentary on the Internet that s

howed how domestic animals such as cows, pigs, and chickens are raised for the purpose of slaughter. The footage and information deeply disturb her, so she declares herself a vegetarian; she doesn’t feel right about eating meat anymore. After investigating the matter a little more, Vicky decides that being a lacto-ovo vegetarian is the best fit because she wants to keep consuming dairy products and eggs. Vicky is a little concerned about getting enough protein and essential amino acids from her diet because she’s quite active and plays college volleyball. Do you think that Vicky can reasonably get enough protein from her new diet, considering she stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds

According to the scientific research and results on this topic, Vicky would not be able to satisfy the demand of her body for protein without consuming any products that are derived from animals.

Vicky's goal and intentions are good and noble ones, as she loves animals, respects them, and do not want them to be slaughtered so that she can eat them. Unfortunately, her body would not react good to her stopping consuming all animal products, especially if she has a blood type O.

The humans are omnivores, thus consume both plants and animals and the products of the animals. The human body needs meat in order to get enough iron, so the chances are very high that Vicky will become anemic very quickly, especially by being a volleyball player and spending much more than the ordinary person. Also, the human body process the proteins from animal origin the easiest, while it finds it hard to do the same with the proteins from pant origin, thus Vicky will soon become much less energetic and not be bale to perform as good as she did earlier. The brain functioning will also be affected, as it is the organ that needs the most energy and by lacking it, Vicky will start to have troubles with her concentration and thinking process.

Mary is 14 years old. Her resting heart rate 70 beats per minute. Calculate 50% of Mary maximum heart rate to fine her target he
kozerog [31]

Answer:

Mary's target heart rate  is 103 beats per minute (bpm).

Explanation:

The maximum heart rate (MHR) is the rate at which the human heart of a given person reaches the highest demands. At rest, the heart rate is about 60 to 80 beats per minute.

MHR = 220 - age

So, for Mary: MHR = 220 - 14 = 206 beats per minute (bpm)

Now we can calculate Mary's target heart rate:

Target heart rate = MHR * 50% = 206 * 0.5 = 103  beats per minute (bpm)

Hope this helped!
