Answer:

the cost of 1 daylile =9

the cost of 1 shrub  =6

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Paul spent 45$ on 3 dayliles and 3 shurbs</em>

<h3>Equation 1</h3>

3x + 3y = $45

<em>Amy spent 75$ on 3 dayliles and 8 shrubs </em>

<h3>Equation 2</h3>

3x + 8y = $75

solve them

3x + 3y = $45

3x = 45 - 3y

x = (45 - 3y) / 3

Put values of x in equation 2

3(45 - 3y) / 3 + 8y = 75

45 - 3y + 8y = 75

45 + 5y = 75

5y = 75 - 45

5y = 30

y = 30/5

y = 6

find x,

3x + 3y = $45

3x + 3(6) = 45

3x =45 - 18

3x = 27

x = 9

So

the cost of 1 daylile =9

the cost of 1 shrub  =6

A newspaper article states that 90% of drivers in Iowa wear their seatbelt. Suppose we are interested in estimating the proporti
konstantin123 [22]

Answer:

The sample size is  n  = 3457

Step-by-step explanation:

From the we are told that

  The population proportion is  p =  0.90

  The margin of error is  E =  0.01

From the question we are told the confidence level is  95% , hence the level of significance is

      \alpha = (100 - 95 ) \%

=>   \alpha = 0.05

Generally the sample size is mathematically represented as

       n  =[  \frac{ Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} }  }{E} ]^2 * p(1-p)

=>  n  =[  \frac{ 1.96  }{0.01} ]^2 * 0.90(1-0.90)

=>   n  = 3457
