Answer:

0.8 m/s

Explanation:

From Newton's third law of motion,

Impulse on a body = Change in momentum of the body

Ft = m(v-u) ......................... Equation 1

Where F = force on the body , t = time, m = mass of the body, v = final velocity, u = initial velocity,

Note: Taking the direction of the initial velocity as negative,

Given: F = 1.76×10⁴ N, t = 5.5×10⁻² s, m = 110 kg, u = -8.0 m/s

Substitute into equation 1

1.76×10⁴ ( 5.5×10⁻²) = 110[v-(-8.0)]

968 = 110v+880

110v = 968-880

110v = 88

v = 88/110

V = 0.8 m/s

Hence the final velocity = 0.8 m/s

Assuming atmospheric pressure to be 1.01 x 10^5 Pa and the density of sea water to be 1025 kg/m^3, what is the absolute pressure
Rudik [331]
To solve for absolute pressure, you will need this formula:

P_{total}  = P_{atm} + (rgh)

Where: P_{total} = absolute pressure
             P_{total} = atmospheric pressure
             r (rho) = density
             g  = acceleration due to gravity constant 9.8  \frac{m}{ s^{2} }
             h = depth (in this case)

rgh is the formula for pressure of fluids

So with your given, we just need to insert it into the formula:

P_{total} = P_{atm} + (rgh)
P_{total} = 1.01 x 10^{5} x (1,025 \frac{kg}{m^3} x 9.8 \frac{m}{{s^2}} x 15 m
P_{total} = 1.01 x 10^{5} + 150,675
P_{total} = 1.01 x 10^{5} + 1.51 x 10^{5}

P_{total} = 2.52 x 10^{5} This is your absolute pressure.

What does the universal law of gravitation state
kodGreya [7K]

Every mass is attracted to every other mass with a force that is proportional
to the product of both masses and inversely proportional to the square of the
distance between their centers of mass. The forces act along the line between
their centers of mass.

What nuclear reaction is the energy source of a white dwarf?
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

Nuclear Fusion

Explanation:

when a star's core collapses, it has no outer layer of resources to use, so it uses the resources inside of it, nuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction in which atomic nuclei of low atomic number fuse to form a heavier nucleus with the release of energy.

A ball on a string travels once around a circle with a circumference of 2. 0 m. The tension in the string is 5. 0 n.
Schach [20]

The work done by the ball on a string is 0J if a ball is travelling around as circle with a circumference of 2.0m

We know that circumference or perimeter of circle=2πr where r is the radius of the circle.

So, we have circumference=2m

Therefore,2πr=2

=>r=2/2π

=>r=(1/π) m

Now, we know very well that when a body moves a displacement dx under the action of force, some amount of work is done by the force on the body and that force is given by

W=\int\limits {F}. \, dx

where F is defined as the force acting on the body

and dx is the displacement of the body.

On expanding the above formula, we get

=>W=Fdxcosθ where cosθ is the angle between the force and displacement of the body.

Since Tension is actually centripetal force which is acting along the center of the circle where ball displacement is in perpendicular direction to the tension.

It means angle between Tension and ball's displacement is 90°. So,cos90°=0

Therefore, W=Fdxcos90

=>W=0J.

Hence, amount of work done is 0J.
