Hello!

Let's change all the fractions so that they can have a common denominator.

First, list the multiples of each denominator to find the GCM

6 ⇒ 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48
8 ⇒ 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48
12 ⇒ 12, 24, 36, 48
16 ⇒ 16, 32, 48

The GCM IS 48

\frac{5 \times 8}{6 \times 8} =  \frac{40}{48}

\frac{5 \times 6}{8 \times 6} =  \frac{30}{48}

\frac{11 \times 4}{12 \times 4} =  \frac{44}{48}

\frac{9 \times 3}{16 \times 3} =  \frac{27}{48}

<em>Now, order the fractions

</em>\frac{9}{16},  \frac{5}{8},  \frac{5}{6} ,\frac{11}{12}<em>

Which set contains rational numbers?
neonofarm [45]

Rational numbers are any numbers that terminate (the decimal ends somewhere)

The only set that does this is D, since

\sqrt{25}  = 5

All other sets have these:

\sqrt{47}  \:  \sqrt{7}  \: \pi

None of these terminate (the decimals goes on forever), so the answer is D

Solve for x 4x+ 14=6x-8
Tomtit [17]

x=11
x is equal to 11 because you subtract 4x from both sides and then add 8 to both sides where you are left with 2x=22. After dividing by 2, you get x=11
