Action and reaction forces are equal and opposite forces, but they don't cancel each other out because the forces are on different parts of the person swimming in the water.

Answer:

<em>They Act on Different Objects</em>

Explanation:

<em>Newton's Third law of motion states that action and reaction are equal and opposite. The action and reaction forces in of Newton's Third Law -works on different objects. </em>

In Real life examples, or situations  like, A textbook lying on  a table  ever, A cup pressing down on the table, or a table pressing up on an iron, these forces in this cases,  are balanced by extra or additional  forces, and at times, they are not.

<em>Most importantly  action and reaction forces from Newton's Third Law of motion act on different objects, But  forces working  on the same object or entity  may cancel  out this is from( Newton's Second Law), So long as the sum of their is considered  to be zero.</em>

What is the new volume of the gas if the pressure on 350 L of oxygen
Iteru [2.4K]

Answer:

420 L

Explanation:

Applying Boyle's Law,

PV = P'V'.................... Equation 1

Where P = Initial pressure, P' = Final pressure, V = Initial volume, V' = Final volume.

make V' the subject of the equation

V' = PV/P'.................... Equation 2

From the question,

Given: P = 720 mmHg, V = 350 L, P' = 600 mmHg

Substitute these values into equation 2

V' = (720×350)/600

V' = 252000/600

V' = 420 L

A 5 kg mass is oscillating on a spring with a time period of 2.8 seconds. What is the spring constant k of the spring?
katrin [286]

Answer:

<em>k = 25.18 N/m</em>

Explanation:

<u>Simple Harmonic Oscillator</u>

It consists of a weight attached to one end of a spring being allowed to move forth and back.

If m is the mass of the weight and k is the constant of the spring, the period of the oscillation is given by:

\displaystyle T=2\pi {\sqrt {\frac {m}{k}}}

If the period is known, we can find the value of the constant by solving for k:

\displaystyle k=m\left(\frac{2\pi}{T}\right)^2

Substituting the given values m=5 Kg and T=2.8 seconds:

\displaystyle k=5 \left(\frac{2\pi}{2.8}\right)^2

k = 25.18 N/m
