To solve it you would make an equation where x*(x+2)=63 where x is the smaller integer. this is because an odd number is always 2 away from the odd number after it. Multiply it out to get x^2+2x=63 and subtract 63 from both sides to get a trinomial. X^2+2x-63 factors into (x+9)(x-7) this means your smaller integer is either -9 or 7 making your larger integers being -7 and 9. Your two pairs of integers are: (7 and 9) and (-9 and -7) :)

Solve x2 - x - 30 = 0 by factoring.
likoan [24]

Answer:

x=6, x=-5

Step-by-step explanation:

Factoring this quadratic gets you (x-6)(x+5)=0, for this to be possible, either x-6 or x+5 has to be zero, so therefor x is 6, or x is -5
