Answer: 324 trees

Explanation: (cross multiply and divide)

In a fraction put x over 450 then next to it put 72 over 100 hundred

Cross multiply
72x450=32,400

100x= 32,400 (Divide each side of equation by 100)

X= 324

-OR- Just multiply 450 by .72

Either way you get the same answer. Hope this helped:)

Find the midpoint of CD. C= (7,-4) and D= (-8,-5)
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

( -\frac{1}{2},-\frac{9}{2})

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a midpoint is as follows:

(\frac{x_{1} +x_{2}}{2} ,\frac{y_{1} +y_{2}}{2})

The x-coordinate:

x1 = 7, x2 = -8

7+(-8) = -1

Divide by 2 to get the x-midpoint

-1/2

The y-coordinate

y1 = -4, y2 = -5

-4 + (-5) = -9

Divide by 2 to get the y-midpoint

-9/2

You get:

( -\frac{1}{2},-\frac{9}{2})

Perimeter of a rectangular room is 270 yards. Longer side of the room is 15 yards longer than the shorter side. Find the dimensi
ankoles [38]

In this question , it is given that, Perimeter of a rectangular room is 270 yards. Longer side of the room is 15 yards longer than the shorter side.

So if we let shorter side be x, then longer side is

x+15

And perimeter is equal to sum of all sides, that is

x+x+15+x+x+15=270
\\
4x+30=270
\\
4x=240
\\
x=60

So the smaller side is 60 yards , and longer side is 15 more then 60 that is 75 yards .

How do I solve this using the Pythagorean theorem and leaving it in radical form ?
scoray [572]
If the legs of a right triangle are a and b and the hypotnuse is c then
a²+b²=c²

so we are given
the legs are x and √7
and the hypotnuse is √19
so

x²+(√7)²=(√19)²
x²+7=19
minus 7 both sides
x²=12
sqrt both sides
x=√12
x=√(4*3)
x=(√4)(√3)
x=2√3

Prove this <br><br> 1-tan^2x/1+tan^2x=cos^2x-sin^2x
tatiyna

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the identity

tan x = \frac{sinx}{cosx}

Consider the left side

\frac{1-tan^2x}{1+tan^2x}

= \frac{1-\frac{sin^2x}{cos^2x} }{1+\frac{sin^2x}{cos^2x} } ( multiply numerator and denominator by cos²x to clear fractions

= \frac{cos^2x-sin^2x}{cos^2x+sin^2x} ← ( cos²x + sin²x = 1 ]

= cos²x - sin²x

= right side , thus proven
