(-8.1)+(-8.9)
=(-17)
since they're both negatives and you're adding them, the answer will also be a negative number

It equals -17 because if u add it with the decimals it would equal -17.0 but the zero isn't necessary so that is how u get it.

Bob believes his test grade varies directly with the number of hours he spends studying and inversely with the number of hours h
Readme [11.4K]

Answer: Hello mate!

A direct variation implies that, if y is the dependent variable that varies with the variable x; then: y = k*x where k is a real number.

An inverse variation has the form y = k/x where also k is a real number.

them, if we define s as the hours that Bob spends studying, and b as the hours that he spends playing baseball, then the equation that represents the score is:

Score(s,b) = k*s/b

we know that if s = 6, and b = 7, then the score is 72; with this information, we could obtain the value of the constant k.

score(6,7) = 72 =k*6/7 = k*

then  k = 72*(7/6) = 61.7

now if s = 4 and b = 6, the score that he should expect is:

score( 4, 6) = 61.7*(4/6) = 41

liq [111]

Answer:

The cost of one bear is <u>$47,000</u>.

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is incomplete and the data is missing so the complete question with data is below with attached files:

To celebrate there 125 anniversary, a company in Germany produced 125 very expensive teddy bears. The bears, known as the "125 karat teddy bears", are made mohair, silk and gold thread and have diamond and sapphire eyes.

The chart shows the approximate cost of " 125 teddy bears". Based on the pattern, how much does one bear cost?

Now, to get the cost of one bear.

So, we solve it by using unitary method:

If 4 bears cost = $188,000.

Then 1 bear cost = 188000\div 4=47000

Thus, cost of one bear is $47,000.

Now, we check it by using another pattern of the data:

If 7 bears cost = $329,000.

Then 1 bear cost = 329000\div 7=47000.

Hence, the cost of one bear is $47,000.

Therefore, the cost of one bear is $47,000.

Two of your friends, Matt and Karen, both run to you to settle a dispute. They were working on a math problem, and got different
Anna11 [10]
So in matt's equation, he made a mistake in the a transision from line 2 to line 3
in line 2:  -4(-2)2
in line 3: -4(4)
the mistake is that -2 times 2 is not equal +4 it is equal to -4
also from lines 5 to 6 he made a mistake in order of opperations (mulit division then addition and subtract)
line 5: -10+30/5
line 6: 20/5

so he first subtracted 10 then divided, he should have divided then subtracted
so the equation should have equaled

Karen used the correct (-) times (+) property and the order of operations
so Karen is correct and Matt is wrong.

Class width : Range / number of classes

Class width = (maximum - minimum) / 5

Class width = (52 - 2) / 5 = 50/5 = 10 + 1 = 11
