Answer: bias

Explanation: Bias is the inclination towards something; predisposition, partiality, prejudice, preference, predilection. It is an adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand often without knowledge of the facts. As a preconceived opinion or feeling, it can be positive or negative. Sam's memory of his football's team glory days as more successful than it actually was is probably due to bias, this is because he favors one side or issue over another and does not give an equal chance to another opinion concerning his team.

What types of permanent settlements did the Spanish establish in North America?
Makovka662 [10]
The Spanish established permanent settlements in North America. The first settlement was a Spanish fort called St. Augustine in Florida. It was established in 1565. Its primary function was that of a base camp for explorers who explored the continent. It was also used as a centre to convert the local Native Americans to Roman Catholicism. There were a few settlements established in outlying areas. These did not last. They were either attacked and destroyed by the Native Americans, or they had to close because they could not support themselves economically.

What influences the cuisine of particular countries?
ser-zykov [4K]
I would say it's mostly climate, as it determines two things: 1) what can grow/live in a given place and 2) how long can the products be kept

Additionally, it's the closeness to such things as water sources where you can fish and trade routes: a lot of European cuisines include cofee products, even if cofee is not grown in Europe!
