Answer: Argon (Ar).

Effusion is the escape of a gas through an opening  considerably smaller than the mean free path of the molecules.

There is a formula that states that  the rate of effusion is inversely proportional to the square root of the Molar Mass, at fixed temperature.

Then, the gas with the highest molar mass will have the lowest effusion rate.

Here are the molars masses of the four gases:

N2 = 2*14 g/mol= 28 g/mol

H2: 2 * 1g/mol = 2 g/mol

He: 4 g/mol

Ar: 40 g/mol

Then, Ar will exhibit the slowest rate of effusion at the same temperature.

Liono4ka [1.6K]

The expression that can be used to determine Cl2O(g) is ;

S_{cl_{2}o(g) } ^{o} = 2S_{HCIO(g)} ^{o} - S_{H_{2}O(g) }^{o} - \beta S_{rxn} ^{o}

<h3>Determine an expression that can be used to determine Cl2O(g)</h3>

The general expression for ΔS°rxn of a chemical reaction

ΔS°rxn = ∑mS°products - ∑nS°reactants

where ; m and n = stoichiometry coefficients

Considering the given reaction : H₂O(g) + Cl₂O(g) → 2HCIO (g)

\betaS°rxn  = 2S_{HCIO(g)} ^{o} - S_{H_{2}O(g) } ^{o} - S_{Cl_{2}O } ^{o} ------- ( 2 )

Rearranging the equation above

S_{cl_{2}o(g) } ^{o} = 2S_{HCIO(g)} ^{o} - S_{H_{2}O(g) }^{o} - \beta S_{rxn} ^{o}

Hence we can conclude that The expression that can be used to determine Cl2O(g) is ;

S_{cl_{2}o(g) } ^{o} = 2S_{HCIO(g)} ^{o} - S_{H_{2}O(g) }^{o} - \beta S_{rxn} ^{o}
