The balanced equation for the above reaction is
H₂O + Cl₂ + SO₂ ---> HCl + H₂SO₄
redox reactions are made of reduction and oxidation reactions.
reduction is when the oxidation state of the species reduces and in oxidation the oxidation state increases in the species.
in the above reaction,
oxidation state of Cl in Cl₂ is 0
and oxidation state of Cl in HCl is -1
theres a reduction in oxidation number of Cl from 0 to -1.
therefore Cl is reduced in the reaction

Explanation:

Reduction means the gain of electrons or decrease in number of oxidation state of an atom.

For example, H_{2}O + Cl_{2} + SO_{2} \rightarrow HCl + H_{2}SO_{4}

Reduction half reaction: Cl_{2} + 1e^{-} \rightarrow Cl^{-1}

Here oxidation state of chlorine changes from 0 to -1, that is, chlorine is reducing in this chemical reaction.

THE ANSWER IS

<em>C. St. Louis</em>

Explanation:

Do you see that big, slightly curved line overlapping the united states, with little triangles in it? That represents the heavy rainstorm. If you look close enough, St. Louis is closest to one of the tiny triangles, aka the rainstorm.

WHY IT CAN’T BE THE OTHER OPTIONS:

It cannot be the <em>other choices</em> because they are not as close to the line as <u>St. louis </u>is

Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

c and d are correct

Explanation:

In A, false because in Valence Electrons, the more the valences, the more stable an atom is.

In B, false because atoms cannot readily gain or lose valence electrons as the number of valence electrons is determined by the column they are in.

In C, true because the more the valence electrons, the more the stability of an atom.

In D, true as electron placing is important and the reactivity of an atom is important.

So C and D are true!
