Answer:

1. Polygenic

2. RW

Explanation:

1. A polygenic trait is regulated by more than one gene. The phenotype of the organism is regulated by sum total of all the dominant alleles of these genes. Therefore, these traits exhibit continuous variations and are called quantitative traits. Skin color in humans is an example as it is regulated by more than one genes and the phenotype is determined by total dominant alleles of these genes.

2. If allele R gives red phenotype and the W gives white phenotype, a cross between RR (red) and WW (white) would produce all the cows with RW genotype. The parent cow with RR genotype would form all the gametes with R allele while all the gametes from WW parent would have one copy of the W allele. The random fusion of gametes with R and W alleles would produce progeny with RW genotype.

The more ________________ the homologous structure, the more likely they _______________ shared a common ancestor
Natali [406]

The more numbers of the homologous structure, the more likely they have recently shared a common ancestor.

Explanation:

Homologous organs are defined as those organs which do have different functions but a similar basic structure which denotes the divergent evolution. Homologous organs are seen in species that are very close to each other which are more related with each other in terms of evolution. For example, a bird is more close to each man than a fish, so do share more homologous organs common to man than fishes do. Examples of the homologous organs are hands of human and wings of birds. They have same basic structure like skeletal structure which is humerus, radius, ulna, carpals, metacarpals and phalanges. They are similar in structure but have different functions like flying in birds and gathering food in humans.

3)What are some examples of specialized cells
finlep [7]

Answer:

3 Neurons are the specialized cells responsible for allowing all the basic body functions to take place correctly as all the necessary communication happens through them. Muscle cells or myocyte cells are specialized in making all movement possible. These cells have a cylindrical shape that allows them to contract.

Explanation:

4 Each cell must be able to perform as a part of a living organism. Cell specialization is required for cells to perform as a part of a whole living thing. Different cells do different jobs.
