Ralph opened a savings acount with a deposit of $100. Every month after that he deposits $20 more. Why is the relationship described not proportional?

First to be proportional you need at least 3 number and you only have 2. so basically i would look like 100 =  x                                    
                                      20       y
so basically its not proportional

Proportional relationships are also known as direct variation, in which you multiply by a constant, it is represented by the equation y = kx.

Therefore, this is not Proportional because we are ADDING $20 more and not multiplying by a constant.
