Answer:

a) \theta_2 = 0.05 * \frac{3.5}{0.7} = 0.25

b) \theta_2 = 0.05 * \frac{140}{700} = 0.01

Explanation:

We are comparing two wavelengths with the radius and diameter constant, and if we want to compare it, we need to use the following formula:

\frac{\theta_1}{\theta_2}= \frac{\lambda_1}{\lambda_2}

Where \theta represent the angular resolution and \lambda the wavelength.

So if we have a fixed resolution and wavelength 1 and we want to find the resolution for a new condition we can solve for \theta_2 and we got

\theta_2 = \theta_1 \frac{\lambda_2}{\lambda_1}

Part a

For this case the subindex 1 is for the color red and we know that:

\lambda_1 = 700 nm *\frac{1 \mu m}{1000 nm} = 0.7 \mu m

And the angular resolution for the color red is specified as \theta_1 = 0.05

And for the infrared case we know that \lambda_2 = 3.5 \mu m, so if we replace we got:

\theta_2 = 0.05 * \frac{3.5}{0.7} = 0.25

Part b

For this case the subindex 1 is for the color red and we know that:

\lambda_1 = 700 nm

And the angular resolution for the color red is specified as \theta_1 = 0.05

And for the ultraviolet case we know that \lambda_2 = 140 nm, so if we replace we got:

\theta_2 = 0.05 * \frac{140}{700} = 0.01

A lead bar 12 cm long, 2 cm wide, and 2 cm talk has a density of 11.3g/cm3. If you cut the bar in half, what is the density of o
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

The density of one halves  11.3 g / cm cube

Explanation:

Density remain same because cutting the bar in half , mass and volume will decrease to half so density will not change .

density = \frac{mass}{volume}

A 75.0 W bulb is connected to a
adoni [48]

Answer:

Explanation:

W = 75 watts

V = 110 volts

Formula

W = V * I

Solution

75 = 110 * I          Divide by 110

75 / 110 = I

I = 0.6818 Amperes

Explain the importance of resistors in a circuit. Cite some instances to prove this example.
Arisa [49]
A resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. In electronic circuits, resistors are used to reduce current flow, adjust signal levels, to divide voltages, bias active elements, and terminate transmission lines, among other uses. High-power resistors that can dissipate many watts of electrical power as heat, may be used as part of motor controls, in power distribution systems, or as test loads for generators. Fixed resistors have resistances that only change slightly with temperature, time or operating voltage. Variable resistors can be used to adjust circuit elements (such as a volume control or a lamp dimmer), or as sensing devices for heat, light, humidity, force, or chemical
