A rectangular coil with sides 0.150 m by 0.250 m has 487 turns of wire. It is rotated about its long axis in a magnetic field of

0.570 T. At what frequency, in complete cycles per second, must the coil be rotated for it to generate a maximum voltage of 115 V?

Answer:

Frequency is 1.758 Hz

Solution:

As per the question:

No.of turns, n = 487 turns

Magnetic field, B = 0.570 T

Area of the field, A = 0.150\times 0.250 = 0.0375\ m^{2}

Maximum Voltage, V_{m} = 115\ V

Now,

To calculate the frequency:

Angular frequency, \omega = 2\pi f= 120\pi

Maximum emf, V_{max} = \omega NAB

Maximum emf, 115 = 2\pi f\times 487\times 0.0375\times 0.570

f = {115}{2\pi f\times 487\times 0.0375\times 0.570} = 1.758\ Hz

What % of an object’s mass is above the water line if the object’s density is 0.82g/ml?
Sladkaya [172]

To develop this problem we will apply the Archimedes model. As well as the definitions of Weight based on mass and acceleration. The first in turn will be considered under the relationship of Density and Volume. From the values given we have to:

\rho_w =1 g/mL \rightarrow \text{Water Density}

\rho_o = 0.82g/mL \rightarrow \text{Object density}

Since it is in equilibrium, the weight of the object will have a reaction from the water, which will cause the sum of forces between the two objects to be zero, therefore

\sum F= 0

F_w-F_o = 0

F_w = F_o

m_w g = m_og

\rho_w V_w g = \rho_o V_o g

The value of gravity is canceled because it is a constant

\frac{V_w}{V_o} = \frac{\rho_o}{\rho_w}

\frac{V_w}{V_o} = \frac{0.82}{1}

\frac{V_w}{V_o} = 0.82

The portion of the object that is submerged corresponds to 82%, while the portion that is visible, above the water level will be 18%

What are advantages and disadvantages of using a solar cooker compared to other meanings of cookings?
drek231 [11]

The advantage of using a solar cooker is that it is Eco-friendly and the disadvantage is that it can be used only under certain conditions.

<h3><u>Explanation:</u></h3>

A solar cooker is used for cooking food without having to use electricity or gas. Instead, the appliance uses heat from the sun to cook food. It is used widely in by people who travel in remote areas or go on trips. But the appliance has limitations of its own too.

ADVANTAGES

  • Using it is friendly to the environment
  • It can be easily assembled without expert assistance
  • No compromise on the quality and taste of foo

DISADVANTAGES

  • Requires sun to function and prepare food
  • Cannot function in winters or monsoon when the sun isn't present
  • Does not retain heat as efficiently and quickly as compared to other cooking appliances

A car is traveling at 100 km/h when the driver sees an accident 80 m ahead and slams on the brakes. what minimum constant decele
Effectus [21]
Assuming the driver starts slamming the brakes immediately, the car moves by uniformly decelerated motion, so we can use the following relationship
2aS = v_f^2 - v_i^2 (1)
where
a is the deleceration
S is the distance covered after a time t
v_f is the velocity at time t
v_i=100 km/h = 27.8 m/s is the initial speed of the car

The accident is 80 m ahead of the car, so the minimum deceleration required to avoid the accident is the value of a such that S=80 m and v_f=0 (the car should stop exactly at S=80 m to avoid the accident). Using these data, we can solve  the equation (1) to find a:
a=- \frac{v_i^2}{2 S}= -\frac{(27.8 m/s)^2}{2 \cdot 80 m} =-4.83 m/s^2
And the negative sign means it is a deceleration.

Identify the velocity-versus-time plot(s) that correspond to motion under a constant, non-zero acceleration.
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

The question is incomplete because the images were not attached but I will try to help you as much as possible.

Constant acceleration implies that the velocity increases uniformly with time.

The graph of constant acceleration is a straight line graph having a slope. The slope of the graph is constant at any point along the straight line.

The image attached shows a velocity-time graph depicting constant acceleration.
