You should take note that the question is about stability. A compound is stable if it does not easily react with other elements. Hence, its reactivity must be low. As you move down the group, reactivity decreases. So, the halide at the very bottom is the least reactive. It would then be logical that the most stable conjugate base is I⁻ and the least stable conjugate base is the most reactive which is F⁻.

I would think it is a heterogeneous mixture since it can't be an element since there are more than one type of atom, it can't be a compound since the leaves are not bonded together, and it can not be a homogeneous mixture since the leaves don't all blended together (the pile is not uniform) and you can distinguish all the different parts of the mixture.  It can be considered a heterogeneous mixture since the leaves are mixed together (along with other things like dirt) in a non-uniform way so that you can point out the parts of the mixture and it does not look like one thing.

In a gas, the distance between molecules, whether monatomic or polyatomic, is very large compared with the size of the molecules; thus gases have a low density and are highly compressible. In contrast, the molecules in liquids are very close together, with essentially no empty space between them
