Which equation represents a linear function?
quester [9]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 9 - X   is a linear function; x is to the first power.

y = x2 + 1   does NOT represent a linear function; it's a quadratic function.

o

y=x² + 5    does NOT represent a linear function; it's a quadratic function.

D)

y = [xl - 9  does NOT represent a linear function; it's an absolute value function.  This function has two halves, each of which is a linear function.

But the best answer here is that y = 9 - X   is a linear function; x is to the first power.

Determine whether CS and KP are parallel, perpendicular, or neither. Show work.
dezoksy [38]
We need to compare the slopes....

CS
(1,12)(5,4)
slope = (4 - 12) / (5 - 1) = -8/4 = -2...so the slope of CS is - 2

KP
(1,9)(6,-6)
slope = (-6 - 9) / (6 - 1) = - 15/5 = -3...so the slope is -3

if the slopes would have been the same, it would be parallel because parallel lines have the same slope. if the slopes would have had negative reciprocal slopes, then it would be perpendicular. But since the slopes are neither of those...ur answer is neither.

Choose the point-slope form of the equation below that represents the line that passes through the point (6, -3) with a slope of
Firlakuza [10]
The point-slope form is
y = mx + b
m, the slope, is 1/2.
To find b, we plug in the point (6,-3) to the equation:
y =  \frac{1}{2} x + b \\ ( - 3) =  \frac{1}{2} (6) + b \\  - 3 = 3 + b \\  - 6 = b
First, we multiply 1/2 × 6 = 3. Then we subtract 3 from both sides. We find that b is -6.

Therefore, the point-slope equation is:
y =  \frac{1}{2} x - 6
This is the second option.

if angle 1 and angle 2 are vertical, and angle 2 and angle 3 are complentary, angle 3= 56^, what is angle 1
Oksanka [162]
I think it’s 34 because if angle 3 is 56, then angle 2 is 34 because they are complementary and angle 1 is 34 because it’s a vertical angle w/ angle 2
