What is the name of the groove that forms in the middle of a dividing plant cell
mrs_skeptik [129]

Plants have cell walls, so cytokinesis cannot go on with a cleavage furrow, but instead, a cell plate  forms across the cell in the location of the metaphase plate.

There is no distinct groove along the cell plate as the cell divides because of the rigid nature of the cell plate or new cell wall.

A plant cell divides differently from an animal cell which forms a clear cleavage furrow because it only has a flexible cell membrane and not a rigid cell wall like plants.

The cell plate in plant cells is formed by membrane bound vesicles which migrate to the center of the cell where the metaphase plate used to be and fuse together to form a cell plate.

How many copies of each chromosome are found in most animal cells?
lys-0071 [83]
Normally two copies of each chromosome (diploid) are found in most animal cells. The only animal cells that do not contain pairs of chromosomes are reproductive cells, or gametes, which carry just one copy of each chromosome (haploid). When two reproductive cells unite, they become a single cell that contain two copies of each chromosome.

Cells assemble carbohydrates through dehydration synthesis which means a(n) what molecule is removed when the monomers are bonde
mr_godi [17]
The process for connecting two monomers together is called dehydration synthesis. Dehydration means “removal of water” and synthesis means “to join together”. So in this process, two monomers are covalently bonded by the removal of a water molecule. Each organic monomer has a hydroxyl group on one side and a hydrogen on the other. When two monomers line up side by side, they will have these two functional groups facing one another. The H and the OH will break off of their respective monomers and bond forming a water molecule. This is the dehydration part of the process. Each monomer now has a carbon atom that needs to covalently bond with something, so they bind to each other forming a polymer. That is the synthesis part of the process.

1.What question might an applied science researcher ask about?
lana [24]

Answer:

Question an applied science researcher ask is how can the result and conclusion from a basic research be used to solve a particular problem, a kind of implementation approach.

Temperature affect wind speed in a positive way, the higher the temperature the higher the wind speed.

Percent humidity of the air  have a negative impact on the wind speed, the more the percentage humidity, the lesser the wind speed.

Wind can be used to generate electricity by the use of wind Turbine to anex wind energy.

Geographical differences between regions in a particular ecosystem determines the kind of wind patterns, due to change in wind flow.

Explanation:

An applied researcher is an implementation scientist, who usually ask question and research on how the elements and conclusion from basic research can be used to solve problems, they are technology based.

The accumulation of heat energy by gases in the air, will lead to increase in average kinetic energy of each of the gaseous molecules and generate a total pressure that lead to the increase in movement of the molecules of the gases, thus leading to the increase in wind speed.

The presence of moisture in the air, called humidity will cause the air to the denser, and reduce the total pressure that can be exerted by the air molecules, therefore, this will lead to the inhibition of the movement of the air molecules, and ultimately to the reduction of the wind speed.

Wind has been used to generate energy through the use of wind turbine, a machine which uses the movement of the air molecules called wind to rotate a preset electromagnetic field that is capable of producing current when in rotation. The device is usually placed in areas where wind speed is high.

The presence of tall hills and mountains will result in the difference of air pressure between the uphill and lowlands, this will leads to the movement of wind from the uplands to the lowlands, therefore leading to the generation and increase in wind speed.
