Answer:

Local maximum is at 2007

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the table which shows the number of members belonging to a community volunteer group per year. It is given that equation is cubic so let the equation be y=ax^{3}+bx^{2}+cx+d, where the scale of x- axis changes in reference taken 2002 start with 0 in graph shown in attachment.

From the given data put the value of x and y and get the equation

d=12\\a+b+c+d=45\\8a+4b+2c+d=69\\27a+9b+3c+d=85

Solving these equations we get the value of a, b, c and d which are

a=\frac{1}{6}, b=-5, c=\frac{227}{6}, d=12

so, the equation is

\frac{1}{6}x^3-5x^2+\frac{227}{6}x+12=0

At the point of local maximum graph sudden changes it goes down, first derivative is 0. As seen in graph the point of local maximum is at he point shown in graph i.e. on the year 2007.

Draw a model. Then, write the numerical expressions.
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

a. The difference between 8 forty-sevens and 7 forty-sevens

Let ⊕ repesents forty- sevens.

So, Model can be represented by

8⊕ - 7⊕

=⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕-⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕

=⊕

Mathematically,

let x represents forty-sevens.

So, it becomes

8x-7x=x

b. 6 times the sum of 12 and 8.

Mathematically, it is expressed as

6\times (12+8)\\\\=6\times 20\\\\=120

Let 12 be written as 4×3

and 8 be written as 4×2

Let ⊕ represents 4 i.e. fours.

so, there are sum of 2 fours and 3 fours.

So, it becomes,

6×(⊕⊕+⊕⊕⊕)

=6×(⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕)

=⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕⊕

=4×30

=120

The equation to model Exponential Growth is:
abruzzese [7]

Your salary in x years is modeled an the exponential growth

The equation that determines your salary in x years is y = 45000(1.05)^x

<h3>How to model the salary growth?</h3>

The model of the exponential growth is given as:

y = a(1 + r)^x

From the question, we have:

Initial salary, a = 45000

Raise, r = 5%

So, the equation becomes

y = 45000(1 + 5%)^x

Evaluate the sum

y = 45000(1.05)^x

Hence, the equation that determines your salary in x years is y = 45000(1.05)^x
