Answer:

4

Explanation:

1. Photorespiration occurs in plants and it is a wasteful pathway, it competes with the Calvin cycle. It begins when rubisco (Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RUBISCO) catalyzes both CO2 and O2 fixation) acts on O₂ instead of CO₂.

2. Photorespiration is initiated by the oxygenase activity of rubisco, the same enzyme that is also responsible for CO2 fixation.

3. Phosphoglycolate formed by O₂ fixation is recycled to the Calvin cycle intermediate phosphoglycerate in the photorespiratory pathway.

4. During oxygen fixation,1 molecule of PGA and 1 molecule of 2-phosphoglycolate are formed. The 2-phosphoglycolate is converted back to PGA in the photorespiratory cycle.

The diagram is a model of one way that materials move into a cell.
Vlad [161]

Answer:

B. The cell membrane surrounds particles outside the cell.

Explanation:

The last step is when the cell membrane completely surrounds particles outside the cell.

This process is often known as endocytosis.

 • endocytosis is the process whereby a cell ingests materials by engulfing them using the cell membrane.
 • In this process, the cell membrane completely covers the food.

tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:Silicon is neither metal nor non-metal; it's a metalloid, an element that falls somewhere between the two. The category of metalloid is something of a gray area, with no firm definition of what fits the bill, but metalloids generally have properties of both metals and non-metals.

Determine the amount of heat energy in joules required to raise the temperature of 7.40g of water from 29.0OC to 46.0 OC.
valina [46]

Answer: The amount of heat energy in joules required to raise the temperature is 526 Joules

Explanation:

The quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of a substance by one degree Celsius is called the specific heat capacity.

Q=m\times c\times \Delta T

Q = Heat absorbed = ?

m= mass of substance = 7.40 g

c = specific heat capacity = 4.184J/g^0C

Initial temperature of the water = T_i = 29.0°C

Final temperature of the water = T_f = 46.0°C

Change in temperature ,\Delta T=T_f-T_i=(46.0-29.0)^0C=17.0^0C

Putting in the values, we get:

Q=7.40g\times 4.184J/g^0C\times 17.0^0C

Q=526J

The amount of heat energy in joules required to raise the temperature is 526 Joules
