Mathematics

Consider, in ΔRPQ,

RP = R (Radius of larger circle)

PQ = r (radius of smaller circle)

We have to find, RQ, by Pythagoras theorem,

RP² = PQ²+RQ²

R² = r²+RQ²

RQ² = R²-r²

RQ = √(R²-r²

Now, as RQ & QS both are tangents of the smaller circle, their lengths must be equal. so, RS = 2 × RQ

RS = 2√(R²-r²)

Solve and check:
y = x + 4
y = 3x
Sav [38]

Answer:

X=2

Step-by-step explanation:

3x = x + 4

3x - x = 4

2x = 4

x = 4/2

x = 2

Check:

3(2) = 2 + 4

6 = 6

Find the value that completes the ordered pair to describe the transformation of f(x) to g (x).
shtirl [24]

Answer:

we know that if: (x, y) is a point of f(x):

This means that f(x) = y.

Then (x + 3, y + 1) is a point of g(x)

This means that:

g(x + 3) = y + 1

Then we have two shifts.

For a real and positive number A.

A horizontal shift of A units to the right can be written as:

f(x - A)

A vertical shift of A units up can be written as:

f(x) + A.

Then in this case we have:

An horiozontal shift of 3 units to the right, and a vertical shift of 1 unit up, this means that:

g(x') = f(x' - 3) + 1.

then evaluating this at x' = x + 3

g(x + 3) = f(x + 3 - 3) + 1 = f(x) + 1 = y + 1

That is what we had initially.

Which graph shows the image of ABCD? On a coordinate plane, parallelogram A prime B prime C prime D prime has points (negative 2
Fynjy0 [20]

A graph which shows the image of ABCD is: A. on a coordinate plane, parallelogram A'B'C'D' has points (-2, 5), (0, 3), (0, -1.2), (-2, 1).

What is a transformation?

A transformation refers to the movement of a point on a cartesian coordinate from its original (initial) position to a new location.

In Geometry, there are different types of transformation and these include the following:

 • Dilation
 • Reflection
 • Rotation
 • Translation

Based on transformation of parallelogram ABCD, we can infer and logically deduce that a graph which shows the image of ABCD is that on a coordinate plane, with parallelogram A'B'C'D' having points (-2, 5), (0, 3), (0, -1.2), (-2, 1) as shown in the image attached below.

Which point is 7 units from (10, 6) on a coordinate plane?
jeyben [28]
We can Add/Subtract 7 to the x-value or y-value of the point.

(10, 6)

(10 - 7, 6)

(3, 6)

(10 + 7, 6)

(17, 6)

(10, 6 - 7)

(10, -1)

(10, 6 + 7)

(10, 13)

The only point in the options is (3, 6).
