Answer:

The required tensile strength is 175.13 MPa.

Explanation:

Given that,

Tensile strength(MPa)                Number Average Molecular weight(g/mol)

       36                                                               30,000

      150                                                               50,000

First we need to find out  TS_\inftytensile strength at infinity molecular weight.

The formula of tensile strength

TS=TS_\infty-\frac{A}{ M_n}

TS is tensile strength,TS_\infty at infinity molecular weight, M_n is molecular weight and A is constant.

Now substituting TS=36 and M_n=30,000

36=TS_\infty-\frac{A}{30,000}

\Rightarrow TS_\infty=36+\frac{A}{30,000}  ........(1)

Now substituting TS=150 and M_n=50,000

150=TS_\infty-\frac{A}{50,000}

\Rightarrow TS_\infty=150+\frac{A}{50,000} ......(2)

Subtract (1) from (2)

TS_\infty-TS_\infty=150+\frac{A}{50,000}-36-\frac{A}{30,000}

\Rightarrow150+\frac{A}{50,000}-36-\frac{A}{30,000}=0

\Rightarrow \frac{A}{30,000}-\frac{A}{50,000}=150-36

\Rightarrow \frac{5A-3A}{1,50,000}=114

\Rightarrow \frac{2A}{1,50,000}=114

\Rightarrow A=\frac{1,50,000 \times114}{2}

\Rightarrow A=8,550,000

Putting the value of A in equation (1)

TS_\infty=36+\frac{8,550,000}{30,000}

        =361 MPa

Now to find the tensile strength at a number average molecular weight of 46,000 g/mol , Putting the value TS_\infty, TS and A

\therefore TS=361-\frac{8,550,000}{ 46,000}

         = 175.13 MPa

The required tensile strength is 175.13 MPa.

bezimeni [28]
The correct answer among the choices given is option A. Titration is the process of adding a known amount of solution of known concentration to determine the concentration of another solution. It is a known technique used in analysis in laboratories. A titrant is added from a buret to an analyte until the equivalence point is reached.

Calculate the heat of decomposition for this process at constant pressure and 25°C: CaCO3(s) → CaO(s) + CO2(g) The standard enth
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

177.8kJ/mol

Explanation:

In this reaction, the heat of decomposition is the same as the heat of formation. This is a decomposition reaction.

Given parameters:

ΔHf CaCO₃ = -1206.9kJ/mol

ΔHf CaO = −635.6 kJ/mol

ΔHf CO₂ = −393.5 kJ/mol

The heat of decomposition =

                     Sum of ΔHf of products - Sum of ΔHf of reactants

The equation of the reaction is shown below:

     CaCO₃ → CaO + CO₂

The heat of decomposition = [ -635.6 + (-393.5)] - [−1206.9 ]

                                             = -1029.1 + 1206.9

                                             = 177.8kJ/mol

An atom bonds with another atom. What is the best classification for this reaction?
OlgaM077 [116]

Explanation:

When an atom bonds with another atom then it results in the formation of a chemical bond.

This formation of bond could be due to transfer or sharing of electrons.

When a chemical bond is formed due to transfer of electrons then this type of bond is known as ionic bond.

When a chemical bond is formed due to sharing of electrons then this type of bond is known as covalent bond.

How many moles are in 91.5 grams of Helium?
konstantin123 [22]

In order to find the number of moles with a given mass of Helium, we need to use its molar mass, which is 4.0026g/mol, therefore we will have:

4.0026g = 1 mol of Helium

91.5g = x moles of Helium

x = 22.86 moles of Helium in 91.5 grams
