26 people is to be airconditioned. A person in the classroom typically dissipates heat at a rate of 360 kJ/h. The room is lit wi

th 15 light bulbs which each consume 40 W. A 200 W fan also operates in the room near a door to a computer closet. This fan pulls warm air into the classroom under the door at a rate of 200 kg/h. The room gains 10 kJ in energy (enthalpy) for each kg of warm air which enters. The air comes under the door at 10 m/s and leaves the room with negligible velocity through a large vent 3 m above the floor. Otherwise the room is well sealed. Finally, the room gains 5,000 kJ/h by heat transfer through the walls and windows. Determine the air-conditione.

Answer:

The capacity of refrigeration =5.35kw

Explanation:

Total people in classroom =26

One person dissipates =360kj/h

So 26 person will dissipates =360 × 26

                                                  =2.6kw

15 light bulb with 40w each

Total heat dissipates 15×40 =600

                                                =0.6kw

Fan will dissipate =200w

                             =0.2kw

Room gain air at a rate of =200kg/h

Warm air enthalpy =10kj/kg

Total heat coming with warm air = 200×10

                                                         0.555kw

Heat coming from window walls =5000kj/h

                                                       =5000/3600= 1.388kw

Total heat coming in the room =2.6+0.6+0.2+0.55+1.388

                                                   =5.35kw

To maintain room at steady temperature

Heat should be removed at constant rate

Energy balance =energy in/energy out

Capacity of refrigeration =5.35kw

If a chemical reaction has a AH value of -125 kJ, it would be considered what?
Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

Exothermic Reaction

Explanation:

ENDOTHERMIC REACTION: A chemical reaction is considered endothermic if the energy is absorbed during the reaction. In other words, if the energy is required by the reactants to proceed with the reaction, then the reaction is endothermic.

The value of enthalpy change ΔH is positive in such reactions showing intake of energy.

EXOTHERMIC REACTION: A chemical reaction is considered exothermic if the energy is released during the reaction. In other words, if the energy is produced as a product of the reaction, then the reaction is exothermic.

The value of enthalpy change ΔH is negative in such reactions showing the release of energy.

Since, the value of ΔH = -125 KJ, is negative for the given reaction.

Therefore, it would be considered as Exothermic Reaction.

What force must be applied to move a 251 kg rock on a pavement like surface
Alchen [17]

If the rock is just sitting there and you want to SLIDE it, then you have to push it with a force of at least

(251 kg) x (9.8 m/s²) x (μ) =

(2,459 Newtons) x (the coefficient of static friction on that surface)

a truck is moving around a circular curve @ a uniform velocity of 13m/s. if the centifrical force on truck is 3,300N with truck
VMariaS [17]

Answer

81.94 m

Explanation

The centripetal force of an object moving in a circular path is given by:

F = mv²/r Where m is the mass of the object, v is the constant velocity and r is the radius of the curve.

F = mv²/r

3,300 = (1600×13²)/r

3,300 = 270,400/r

r = 270,400/3,300

  = 81.94 m
