Answer:

Total number of tables of first type       = 23.

Total number of tables of second type = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that there are 30 tables in total and there are two types of tables.

Let's call the two seat tables, the first type as x and the second type as y.

∴                                             x + y = 30                        ......(1)

Also a total number of 81 people are seated. Therefore, 2x number of people would be seated on the the first type and 5y on the second type. Hence the equation becomes:

                                            2x + 5y = 81                        .....(2)

To solve (1) & (2) Multiply (1) by 2 and subtract, we get:

                                                      y = 7

Substituting y = 7 in (1), we get x = 23.

∴ The number of tables of first kind         = 23

  The number of tables of second kind   = 7

What is the approximate value of x in the diagram below? (Hint: You will need
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

B. 39.59

Step-by-step explanation:

So 43 degrees, you know the length of the opposite side (27) and the angle (43 degrees), the only unknown is the hypotenuse. So you're looking for a trigonometric ratio that uses the angle (all of them do, except technically the inverse don't), the opposite side, and the hypotenuse. Sine is defined as \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}. So let's plug in known values:

sin(43) = \frac{27}{x}

Multiply both sides by x

sin(43) * x = 27

divide both sides by sin(43)

x=\frac{27}{sin(43)}

Normally I would use a calculator, but in this case I'll use the approximation given in the problem of 0.682

x=\frac{27}{0.682}

simplify the fraction

x\approx39.59
