Why is the largest single cell organism only 5cm

Biology

The remaining cells can divide and make new cells to heal the wound. But an organism made of one large single cell will die from even a small wound, because the inside contents of its single cell will leak out and it has no backup cells to preserve its life therefore cells can't be that large in size.

Hope this helps!

Biologists used the world's largest single-celled organism, an aquatic alga called Caulerpa taxifolia, to study the nature of structure and form in plants. It is a single cell that can grow to a length of six to twelve inches.

What are the ways in which captive breeding helps protect biodiversity? Check all that apply.
Rudik [331]

I do not know the options, but, follow this criteria and you should be able to finish the exercise:

Usually, animals that are in captivity are endangered animals, with few individuals left. When we captivate them, the risks of them dying (either naturally or by poaching, hunting, contamination, etc) is lower, since we are taking direct care of them.

Hope it helped,

Which of the following describes a polar orbit?
faust18 [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

A polar orbit is one in which a satellite passes above or nearly above both poles of the body being orbited (usually a planet such as the Earth, but possibly another body such as the Moon or Sun) on each revolution. It therefore has an inclination of (or very close to) 90 degrees to the body's equator.
