This would be a biology question, but to your answer. Arteries help keep us alive, by moving our blood along. In other words, arteries move the blood from your heart, to all over your body. Without them, blood would not get to your body parts.

A.5 kg model rocket launches with a thrust of 5 n in the upward direction. can it lift off of the ground? (hint: gravity is pull
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

F = F2 - F1     where F is the net force upwards

F = 5 - (.5 * 9.8) = (5 - 4.9) N = .1 N

Since there is a net force in the upwards direction the rocket should experience an upwards acceleration.

E Describe the meaning of a line crossing the x-axis in a
velocity-time graph.
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

Answer:

A line crossing the x-axis in a velocity-time graph means that the moving object has changed its direction.

Explanation:

Velocity-Time graph:

A velocity-time graph is a two dimensional graph with velocity at its y-axis and time at its x-axis. At any point, value of y represents the velocity and value of x represents the time. The slope of the graph gives us the acceleration or deceleration of the moving object.

In a velocity-time graph:

- A straight line represents constant velocity.

- A diagonal line means that the velocity of a body is changing.

*Referring to the figure attached with the answer*

The velocity of the moving object increases at a constant rate for the first 10 minutes. Then the velocity is 60 m/min for the next 5 minutes. After that the velocity is decreasing. Till 30th minute when the velocity is at 0 m/min.

What happens here?

Velocity is a vector quantity. It has some direction. In a velocity-time graph, we are only concerned with two directions of velocity:

- Forward direction

- Backward direction

So, the object stops at 30th minute and starts moving in the reverse direction after that with an increasing velocity. The point where the line cuts the x-axis is basically the point where the object starts moving in the reverse direction.

Find the work done in pumping gasoline that weighs 6600 newtons per cubic meter. A cylindrical gasoline tank 3 meters in diamete
almond37 [142]

Answer:

work done in pumping the entire fuel is 1399761 J

Explanation:

weight per volume of the gasoline = 6600 N/m^3

diameter of the tank = 3 m

length of the tank = 6 m

The height of the tractor tank above the top of the tank = 5 m

The total volume of the fuel is gotten below

we know that the tank is cylindrical.

we assume that the fuel completely fills the tank.

therefore, the volume of a cylinder =

where r = radius = diameter ÷ 2 = 3/2 = 1.5 m

volume of the cylinder = 3.142 x x 6 = 42.417 m^3

we then proceed to find the total weight of the fuel in Newton

total weight = (weight per volume) x volume

total weight = 6600 x 42.417 = 279952.2 N

therefore,

the work done to pump the fuel through to the 5 m height = (total weight of the fuel) x (height through which the fuel is pumped)

work done in pumping = 279952.2 x 5 = 1399761 J

Jake drags a sled of mass 25 kg across the snow. The sled is attached to a rope that pulls with a force of 50 N at an angle of 3
madam [21]

Answer:

218.5 N

Explanation:

In order for the sled to be in equilibrium along the vertical direction, the forces acting along this direction must be balanced. So the equilibrium equation is:

N+F sin \theta - mg =0

where

N is the normal force

F = 50 N is the force that pulls the sled

\theta is the angle between the force and the horizontal, so

F sin \theta is the component of F acting along the vertical direction

(mg) is the weight of the sled, with

m = 25 kg being the mass of the sled

g = 9.8 m/s^2 is the acceleration due to gravity

Solving the formula for N, we find

N=mg-F sin \theta = (25 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)-(50 N)sin 32^{\circ}=218.5 N
