Answer with Explanation

The eukaryotic cell comprises of cell membrane containing nucleus, DNA, and mitochondria in the cell. Eukaryotes could be single-celled or could be multi-celled. The eukaryotic cell contains many cell organelles like gold apparatus, mitochondria, RNA, lysosomes etc. The nucleus of a eukaryotic cell is responsible for all the activities in the cell, mitochondria are responsible for building up the energy out of food, the ribosomes responsible for the utilizing the protein and Golgi apparatus is responsible for the processing and packaging of protein which is building blocks of cells.

What conditions cause cells to break down fat molecules?
chubhunter [2.5K]
Starvation. When the body enters starvation mode or fasting for long periods of time, the body will start to tap on the stored fatty acids to produce ketone bodies. These ketone bodies will build up in the bloodstream, and will also be available if the brain has used up the stored glucose.

A wolf's diploid number of chromosomes is 78. How would the number of chromosomes in the wolf's body cells compare to the number
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer: The number of chromosomes in the wolf's body cells is 78 while the gametes has 39

Explanation:

Since each body cell under only mitosis to yield two daughter cells with equal number of chromosome as the parent cell (i.e diploid number, 2n) while sex cells undergo meiosis to yield four daughter cells with half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell (i.e haploid number, n); thus, the wolf's body cells has 78 chromosomes while the gametes has 39 chromosomes.

Metabolites are small molecules that:
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

C) generally consist of 1,000 different substances

Explanation:

Metabolites are compounds, usually organic, that participate in the chemical reactions that take place at the cellular level. The set of these biochemical reactions, together with the intracellular physical-chemical processes, constitutes the cellular metabolism, the molecular basis of life. The metabolism includes the degradation of molecules for obtaining energy (catabolism) and the synthesis of molecules necessary for growth, reproduction and repair (anabolism).

The succession of metabolic reactions that transform a given initial substance into another is known as a metabolic pathway. The starting substance is known as a substrate or raw material. The final substance is usually known as the final product or metabolite (a metabolic pathway can generate several final products) and the intermediate substances as intermediate metabolites. An intermediate or final metabolite in one metabolic pathway may be the substrate in another, which makes the vast majority of metabolic pathways interconnected.

Metabolites can be classified into two large groups, primary and secondary. Primary metabolites are defined as those that are directly involved in the normal growth, development and reproduction of an organism with an important physiological function. On the contrary, secondary metabolites are not directly involved in these processes. The absence of a primary metabolite usually leads to immediate or short-term death while the absence of a secondary metabolite does not.
