- 2 \frac{3}{5}

note that \frac{2}{6} = \frac{1}{3}

require - 4 \frac{1}{3} ÷ 1 \frac{2}{3}

change mixed numbers to improper fractions

= - \frac{13}{3} ÷ \frac{5}{3}

change ÷ to × and turn second fraction upside down

=-  \frac{13}{3} × \frac{3}{5} ← ( cancel the 3's )

= -  \frac{13}{5} = - 2 \frac{3}{5}

write the equation of the line, in standard form, that is perpendicular to y=3x-2 and passes through (-7,2)
34kurt

Answer:

x+3y=-1

Step-by-step explanation:

y=3x-2 so m=3 old slope

the new slope must be -1/3 (opposite reciprocal of the old slope).

y-y0=m*(x-x0)

y-2=-1/3*(x-(-7))

y-2=-1/3x-1/3*7

y-2=-1/3x-7/3

3y-6=-x-7

The standard form for linear equations in two variables is Ax+By=C.

x+3y=6-7

x+3y=-1
