International trade allows countries all around the world to import (buy products from other countries) and export (sell products to other countries). In this way, countries can focus on exporting those products in which they specialize while bringing from other countries (import) products they do not produce or do not specialize in.

For example, Costa Rica, which is a country in Central America exports products such as bananas and coffee, and due to international trade, this country can focus on these two products and import other products such as oil, technology, etc. from other countries as Costa Rica does not produce these. Thus, the process that helps countries import things they cannot make while allowing them to specialize in exports is International trade.
