Answer:

7/12, 3/4, 5/6

Step by Step:

First, we want to make the denominators the same, since we want to compare them.

The common denominator is 12, so we can change their denominators all to twelve.

We don't need to change 7/12, so we can just leave that be for now.

6 times 2 is 12, so we can multiply 5/6 by 2/2

-That is 10/12.

Next, we need to find one for 3/4.

4 times 3 is 12, so we can times 3/4 by 3/3.

that is 9/12.

So we have the three numbers, I'll line them up here.

7/12, 10/12, 9/12

Since the denominators are all the same, we can basically just compare 7, 9, and 10.

10 is the largest, so 10/12 is greatest. We can now return it back to 5/6, or just simplify it and divide it by 2/2.

9 is bigger than 7/12, so we can simplify that too and turn it back into 3/4.

7/12 is the smallest, but we don't simplify that, since that was it's original state.

so it is 7/12, 3/4, and 5/6.

A pyramid has a rectangular base of length (3x + 1)cm and width xcm.
sergey [27]

Answer:

The dimension of the base of the Rectangle Pyramid is Length = 10 and Width = 8/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Rectangle Pyramid

Base Length = 3x + 1

Base Width = x

Height = 12

Volume = 96

Required

Dimension of the base of the pyramid

Given that the volume of the pyramid is ⅓ of the base area * the height.

This is represented mathematical as

Volume = ⅓ * base area * height.

Where

Base area = width * length

Base area = (3x + 1) * x

Base area = 3x² + x.

So,

Volume becomes

Volume = ⅓ * (3x² + x) * 12.

Volume = (3x² + x) * 4

Substitute 96 for volume

96 = (3x² + x) * 4

Divide both sides by 4

96/4 = (3x² + x) * 4/4

24 = 3x² + x

Subtract 24 fr both sides

24 - 24 = 3x² + x - 24

0 = 3x² + x - 24

3x² + x - 24 = 0

Expand

3x² + 9x - 8x - 24 = 0

Factorize

3x(x + 3) - 8(x + 3) = 0

(3x - 8)(x + 3) = 0

3x - 8 = 0 or x + 3 = 0

3x = 8 or x = -3

x = 8/3 or x = -3

Recall that

Length = 3x + 1

Width = x

For any of the above expression, x can't be less than 0; so, x = -3 can't be considered.

Substitute x = 8/3

Length = 3x + 1

Length = 3(8/3) + 1

Length = 8 + 1

Length = 9

Width = x

Width = 8/3

Hence, the dimension of the base of the Rectangle Pyramid is Length = 10 and Width = 8/3

Using the following diagram below, please answer the following:
Colt1911 [192]
The radius of the circle is 15 cm,
The diameter of the circle is 30 cm,
The circumference of the circle is 94.248 cm,
The area of the circle is 706.86 cm^2

The radius is given in the diagram as half the circle, which is 15 cm.

The diameter is double the radius because the diameter measures the circle from edge to edge, so 15•2=30 cm.

The circumference of the circle is 2•3.14•r=C,
2•3.14=6.28, 6.28•15= 94.248 cm.

The area of the circle is 3.14•r^2, so the radius squared is 225 (15•15) and 225•3.14=706.86 cm squared :)
