ANS:18 ounces of yellow tomatoes and 6 ounces of red tomatoes.

Let the ounces of yellow tomatoes be x

and the ounces of red tomatoes be y.

Now, it is said that there are 24 total ounces of tomatoes of both yellow and red kinds.

So,we get one equation,

x+y=24 ......(1)

Now,it is said that there are 3 times as many yellow tomatoes as there are red.

So, we get another equation as,

x=3y ....... (2)

Now, substituting the value of x from (2) in (1),we get,

3y+y=24

or,4y=24

or,y=6

Then,from (2) we get,

x=3*6=18

ANSWER:18 ounces of yellow tomatoes and 6 ounces of red tomatoes.

The lions won 16 games last year. This year they won 20 games what is the percent increase
AnnZ [28]

The percent increase is 25%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Games won last year = Old value = 16

Games won this year = New value = 20

Difference = New value - Old value

Difference = 20-16 = +4

The positive sign indicates increase.

Percent increase = \frac{Difference}{Old\ value}*100

Percent increase = \frac{4}{16}*100

Percent increase= \frac{400}{16}

Percent increase = 25%

The percent increase is 25%.
