(1+r)^5=137.76/100
1+r=(137.76/100)^(1/5)
R=(137.76/100)^(1/5))-1

A bag contains yellow marbles and blue marbles, 37 in total. The number of yellow marbles is 7 more than 5 times the number of b
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

32

Step-by-step explanation:

let b represent the number of blue marbles then

yellow = 5b + 7 and

b + 5b + 7 = 37, that is

6b + 7 = 37 ( subtract 7 from both sides )

6b = 30 ( divide both sides by 6 )

b = 5

Thus there are 5 blue and 5(5) + 7 = 25 + 7 = 32 yellow marbles

A Write an equivalent equation that does NOT contain decimals.
vampirchik [111]

                                                     <span>0.5x - 0.1 = -2.9

When you multiply each side of an equation by the same number,
you don't change the equation or its solution.  If you want to get rid
of the decimals, you could  multiply each side by  10.  Then the
equation is

                                                     5x - 1  =  -29

You should be able to solve that without help.
But I'm about to take your points, so here's
how to solve that equation:

                                            </span><span><span>5x - 1  =  -29

Add  1  to each side:        5x        =  -28

Divide each side by  5 :     x         =  -28 / 5

Simplify the solution:          x         =  -5 and 4/5 .

Again ... this is the same solution as the original equation
if we hadn't gotten rid of the decimals.

Help math question derivative!
atroni [7]
Let f(x)=\sec^{-1}x. Then \sec f(x)=x, and differentiating both sides with respect to x gives

(\sec f(x))'=\sec f(x)\tan f(x)\,f'(x)=1
f'(x)=\dfrac1{\sec f(x)\tan f(x)}

Now, when x=\sqrt2, you get

(\sec^{-1})'(\sqrt2)=f'(\sqrt2)=\dfrac1{\sec\left(\sec^{-1}\sqrt2\right)\tan\left(\sec^{-1}\sqrt2\right)}

You have \sec^{-1}\sqrt2=\dfrac\pi4, so \sec\left(\sec^{-1}\sqrt2\right)=\sqrt2 and \tan\left(\sec^{-1}\sqrt2\right)=1. So (\sec^{-1})'(\sqrt2)=\dfrac1{\sqrt2\times1}=\dfrac1{\sqrt2}
