An iron wire has a length of 1.50 m and a cross sectional area of 0.290 mm2. If the resistivity of iron is 10.0 ✕ 10−8 Ω · m and
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

1.35 A

Explanation:

Applying,

V = IR

I = V/R..................... Equation 1

I = Current, V = Voltage, R = Resistance.

But,

R = Lρ/A............... Equation 2

Where L = Length of the wire, ρ = resistivity, A = Cross-sectional area of the wire.

Sustitute equation 2 into equation 1

V = AV/Lρ............... Equation 3

From the question,

Given: V = 0.7 V, A = 0.290 mm² = 2.9×10⁻⁷ m², L = 1.5 m, ρ = 10×10⁻⁸ Ω.m

Substitute these values into equation 3

I = (0.7× 2.9×10⁻⁷)/(1.5× 10×10⁻⁸ )

I = (2.03×10⁻⁷)/(15×10⁻⁸)

I = 1.35 A

HELP ASAP! <br>why is rolling friction much smaller than sliding friction? Also give an example.
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

Rolling friction is much smaller than sliding friction because Rolling friction is considerably less than sliding friction as there is no work done against the body that is rolling by the force of friction. For a body to start rolling a small amount of friction is required at the point where it rests on the other surface, else it would slide instead of roll.

Rolling Friction example: Anything with weels (cars,skateboards) or a ball rooling.

Sliding Friction example: Bicycle brakes,skinning your knee walking,writing.

Aluminum oxide can be produced during rocket launches. Show that the sum of positive and negative charges in a unit of Al2O3 equ
Triss [41]

Answer:

The sum of positive and negative charges in a unit of Al2O3 equals zero.

Aluminium has a charge of +3 while Oxygen has a charge of -2 on each ion.

Al203 has 2 Al atoms and 3 O atoms.

Charge on Al2O3 = 2(charge on Al ion) + 3(charge on O ion)

= 2(3) + 3(-2)

= 6 - 6

= 0

Explanation:

Aluminium has 3 electrons in the outermost shell and has the tendency to lose those 3 electrons to form a positive ion and have a complete outermost shell.

Whereas, Oxygen has 6 electrons in the outermost and has the tendency to accept two more electrons to form a negative ion and have a complete outermost shell.
