Hey there!

N₂ has a density of 1.25 grams per liter.

We have 2.31 liters of N₂.

2.31 x 1.25 = 2.8875

We have 2.8875 grams of N₂.

Find molar mass of N₂:

N: 2 x 14

------------

         28 g/mol

2.8875 ÷ 28 = 0.10

There is 0.10 mol of nitrogen in 2.31 L of N₂.

Hope this helps!

aleksandrvk [35]

Hello. You did not say what is the experiment to which this question refers, which makes it impossible for it to be answered accurately.

However, advice that should be given to anyone who should start an experiment is: establish a control treatment, provide all treatments with the same variables and the same resources, write down everything that happened in the experiment from implementation to data collection and results, make measurements and analyzes on the same date in all treatments and keep the steaks in the same environment.

Please help it’s due really soon

The type of chemical bond depends on the substances taking part in it. If the substances are metal and non-metal, then the bond between them is ionic. If two substances are metal, then the bond between them is metallic. If two substances are non-metal, then the bond is covalent.

So basically put this:

Metal + Nonmetal = Ionic

Metal + Metal = Metallic

Nonmetal + Nonmetal = Covalent

The melting point of your product is 10 degrees lower than the expected one. What conclusion can you make about the purity of yo
DanielleElmas [232]

Answer:

The product is significantly impure

Explanation:

In order to test for the purity of a specific sample that was synthesized, the melting point of a compound is measured. Basically speaking, the melting point identifies how pure a compound is. There are several cases that are worth noting:

  • if the measured melting point is significantly lower than theoretical, e. g., lower by 3 or more degrees, we conclude that our compound contains a substantial amount of impurities;
  • wide range in the melting point indicates impurities, unless it agrees with the theoretical range.

Since our compound is even 10 degrees Celsius lower than expected, it indicates that the compound is significantly impure.

A chemist has two solutions of H2SO4. One has a 40% concentration and the other has a 25% concentration.
vodomira [7]

Answer:

16 liters of the solution with 40% concentration must be mixed with 62 liters of the solution with 25% concentration in order to obtain 78 liters, 25% concentration solution.

Explanation:

Let the required volume of solution 1 be represented by x.

The required volume of solution 2 would then be 78-x.

The number of moles of solution 1 that would be required = 0.4x

The number of moles of solution 2 that would be required = 0.25(78-x)

The number of moles of the final mixture = 78 x 0.28 = 21.84

moles of solution 1 + moles of solution 2 = moles of final mixture

0.4x + 0.25(78 - x) = 21.84

  0.4x + 19.5 - 0.25x = 21.84

     0.4x - 0.25x = 21.84 - 19.5

          0.15x = 2.34

            x = 15.6 liters

To the nearest tenth = 16 liters

Liters of 40% solution needed = 16 liters

Liters of 25% solution needed = 78 - 16 = 62 liters.

Hence, 16 liters of the solution with 40% concentration must be mixed with 62 liters of the solution with 25% concentration in order to obtain 78 liters, 25% concentration solution.
