8 classes x 20 students per class = 160 students

8 classes x 2 chaperones per class = 16 chaperones

Total people on the buses . . . . . . . . . . 176 people

The expression for the number of buses needed is:

Number of buses = 1 + (the greatest integer in 176/25)

That's because if there are any people left over after the
last full bus of 25, they will need one more bus.

Unfortunately for the school's budget, this group needs
7 full buses carrying 25 people in each, and one bus
carrying one single person in it.

A possible solution to the problem would be to find somebody
who is certified as a bus driver and willing to work two jobs
on the field trip, to act as one of the chaperones. Then they
might get away with only 7 buses.

If this doesn't work, then they can just forget about the whole
idea of 25 on a bus. Loading them to capacity doesn't help,
because it still leaves one person without a ride. They might
as well just put one class and their chaperones on each of the
8 buses, and give each load a little bit of room to spread out.

If there's one student out of 160 who is sick or otherwise doesn't
show up on field-trip day, then they can squeeze everybody into
7 fully-loaded buses. But since they had to reserve 8 buses and
drivers, they'll probably have to pay for the eighth one anyway.

Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

Steps

-x/3 >5

Multiply both sides by 3

3(-x/3)>5.3

Simplify

-X> 15

Multiply both sides by - 1 (reverse the inequality)

(-x)(-1)<15(-1)

Simplify

X< -15

so C is the answer

Endpoint 1: (-1,2)
Midpoint: (9,-6)
Endpoint 2=
Vlad [161]

Answer:

(19 , -14)

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the distance in between each x & y for a coordinate.

Let: (x₁ , y₁) = (-1 , 2)

Let: (x₂ , y₂) = (9 , -6)

From x₁ ⇒ x₂: 9 - (-1) = 10

From y₁ ⇒ y₂: -6 - 2 = -8 = 8*

*Remember that distance cannot be negative, but for the sake of this question, we will leave it as -8.

The distance between the x points are in intervals of 10. The distance between the y points are in intervals of 8. Add 10 & subtract 8 to their respective numbers to get endpoint 2:

(9 (+ 10) , -6 (- 8)) = (19 , -14)

Endpoint 2 = (19 , -14)

How do you calculate the volume of a cone when given the height and diameter? Describe the steps used to solve.
fiasKO [112]

First find the radius by taking half the diameter. Use the radius to find the base area by using the formula for the area of a circle. Find the product of the base area and height, and then take one-third of the product.

aksik [14]
If the order of the numbers in the question are the order Darrin put theem in then no, his work is not correct. this is because 7.25 is not greater than 7.52. the real order should be 7.52,7.25, 5.72, 5.27

Use addition to solve the linear system of equations. Include all of your work in your final answer. \(\left\{ \right.\) 3x-y=6
ad-work [718]

Answer:

Solving the given linear system, we get x = 1 and y = -3.

The solution set is: (1,-3)

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to solve the linear system of equations.

3x-y=6 \\y=x-4

We can write second equation y=x-4 as: -x+y=-4

Let:

3x-y=6--eq(1)\\ -x+y=-4--eq(2)

Now, Adding equation 1 and 2

3x-y=6\\ -x+y=-4\\--------\\2x+0y=2\\2x=2\\x=\frac{2}{2}\\x=1

So, we get x = 1

Now, put value of x in second equation to find value of y:

y=x-4\\Put\:x=1\\y=1-4\\y=-3

So, we get y = -3

Solving the given linear system, we get x = 1 and y = -3.

The solution set is: (1,-3)
