A small pumpkin is launched from a very versatile catapult at a variety of speeds and angles. The angles are measured relative t

o the horizontal. Rank each of the following trials by the maximum height reached by the pumpkin. (1=highest) Consider air resistance to be negligible.
Speed: 27.9m/s, Angle: 33.8∘,
Speed: 7.8m/s, Angle: 65.6∘,
Speed: 38.1m/s, Angle: 42.1∘,and
Speed: 24.3m/s, Angle: 69.5∘

Answer:

Explanation:

Maximum height reached

H = u²sin²θ / 2g

For speed=27.9m/s, Angle= 33.8∘,

H=  (27.9 sin33.8)² / 2g

= 12.29 m

For speed = 7.8m/s, Angle=65.6∘

H=  (7.8 sin65.6 )² / 2g

= 2.57 m

For speed=38.1m/s, Angle=42.1∘,

H = (38.1 sin42.1 )² / 2g

= 33.28 m

For speed=24.3m/s, Angle=69.5∘,

H = (24.3sin69.5)² / 2g

= 26.43 m

Rank 1  --     Speed: 38.1m/s, Angle: 42.1∘,

Rank 2  -----Speed: 24.3m/s, Angle: 69.5∘

Rank 3 -----Speed: 27.9m/s, Angle: 33.8∘,

Rank 4 -----Speed: 7.8m/s, Angle: 65.6∘,

Suppose a single electron orbits about a nucleus containing two protons (+2e), as would be the case for a helium atom from which
notka56 [123]

Answer:

a=5.66*10^{23} \frac{m}{s^2}

Explanation:

In this case we will use the Bohr Atomic model.

We have that: F=m*a

We can calculate the centripetal force using the coulomb formula that states:

F=k*\frac{q*q'}{r^2}

Where K=9*10^9 \frac{Nm^2}{C}

and r is the distance.

Now we can say:

m*a=k*\frac{q*q'}{r^2}

The mass of the electron is = 9.1*10^{-31} Kg

The charge magnitud of an electron and proton are= 1.6*10^{-19}C

Substituting what we have:

[tex]a=\frac{9*10^{9}*(1.6*10^{-19} )*(2(1.6*10^{-19} ))}{9.1*10^{-31}*(2.99*10^{-11})^2 }[/tex]

so:

a=5.66*10^{23} \frac{m}{s^2}
