Solve parenthesis first. 1/2(-4x+6). That means you gonna have to distribute .
1/2 of -4x would be -2x and 1/2 of 6 is 3. so -2x+3.
1/3(9x-24) so 3x-8.
-2x+3+3x-8. combine like terms. so it would be x(or 1x if you perfer it) . x-5

In a certain Algebra 2 class of 27 students, 18 of them play basketball and 16
Bogdan [553]

Answer:

<em>The probability is 0.89 or 89%</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Probability</u>

There are n=27 students in a certain Algebra 2 class. 18 out of them play basketball and 16 of them play baseball.

We also know 3 students play neither sport. This leaves 27-3=24 students playing sports.

The probability that a randomly chosen student plays basketball or baseball is:

\displastyle p=\frac{24}{27}

Simplifying:

\displastyle p=\frac{8}{9}=0.89

The probability is 0.89 or 89%
