Two horses, Thunder and Misty, are accelerating a wagon 1.3 m/s2. The force of friction is 75 N. Thunder is pulling with a force

of 1,000 N, while Misty is pulling with a force of 800 N. The force of gravity is 14,700 N and the normal force is 14,700 N. What is the mass of the wagon? Round the answer to the nearest whole number. kg

Assumption both thunder and misty are pulling in same direction,
Net force= 1000N+800N-75N=1725N
Mass of wagon = 1725N/1.3ms^-2 = 1327kg

Answer: 1327 kg

Explanation:

First of all, we can notice that the forces along the vertical direction (gravity and normal force) are equal and opposite, so they cancel each other and we can ignore them.

The relationship between the net force on the horizontal direction and the acceleration of the wagon is given by Newton's second law:

\sum F = ma

where

\sum F is the net force on the wagon

m is the mass of the wagon

a is the acceleration

In this problem, the net force on the wagon is:

\sum F=1,000 N+800 N-75 N=1,725 N

the mass is unkown

and the acceleration is a=1.3 m/s^2

So we can re-arrange the equation above to find the mass of the wagon:

m=\frac{\sum F}{a}=\frac{1725 N}{1.3 m/s^2}=1327 kg

The blackbody curve of a star moving toward Earth would have its peak shifted (a) to lower intensity; (b) toward higher energies
trasher [3.6K]

As show the figure, peak of each blackbody curves shifts towards higher frequency. Then energy emitted by the black body is directly proportional to the frequency incident radiation.

Hence peak is shifted to higher energies.

Therefore the correct option is B: Toward higher energies.

If the car moves for equal times along the road and hill, create an expression for its average velocity vector v(ave) in terms o
SIZIF [17.4K]

So here in order to find the average velocity we can say

v_{avg} = \frac{displacement}{time}

so first we know that along the horizontal and along the inclined it moves with same time interval

so here we will have displacement in x direction as

x = v_o (t) + v_{1x}(t)

now the average velocity in x direction will be given as

v_{avg} = \frac{v_o t + v_{1x} t}{t + t}

v_{avg} = \frac{v_o + v_{1x}}{2}

now similarly for y direction

first we will find its displacement

y = v_{1y}(t)

now the average velocity in y direction will be given as

v_{avg} = \frac{v_{1y} t}{t + t}

v_{avg} = \frac{v_{1y}}{2}

now net velocity is given as

v_{avg} = \frac{v_o + v_{1x}}{2}\hat i + \frac{v_{1y}}{2}\hat j

What is the best explanation of work?
Margarita [4]

Answer:

<u>Work done by the force acting on a body is defined as the product of force and displacement of the body in the direction of the force.</u><u> </u> It is a scalar quantity. Force acting on the body must produce a displacement for the work is to be done by the force. Thus, for the work to be done, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

A force must be applied and the applied force must produce a displacement in any direction except perpendicular to the direction of the force.

Mathematically,

work = force \times  \: displacement

( in the direction of force)

i.e W= F•D

The SI unit of force is Newton (N) and that of displacement of a metre (M). So the unit of work is Newton metre(Nm) which is joule (J).

Thus, one joule work is said to be done when one Newton force displaces a body through one metre in its own direction.

Hope this helps...

Good luck on your assignment..
