How do you identify the number of valence electrons in an element using periodic table
frosja888 [35]
You may look at what group they are in
Group
1A=Group 1
2A = Group 2
3A = Group 13
4A= Group 14
5A=Group 15
6A=Group 16
7A=Group 17

The #A tells you how many valence electrons there are by the # before A. Such as Chlorine, which is in 7A, so therefore has 7 valence electrons.

A laser used for many applications of hard surface dental work emits 2780-nm wavelength pulses of variable energy (0-300 mJ) abo
Bess [88]

Answer:

a

    n =  1.119 *10^{18} \ photons

b

  P  =  1.6 \ W

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The wavelength is  \lambda  =  2780 nm =  2780 *10^{-9} \ m

     The  energy  is  E =  80 mJ  =  80 *10^{-3} \ J

This energy is mathematically represented as

     E   = \frac{n  *  h *  c }{\lambda }

Where  c is the speed of light with a value  c =  3.0 *10^{8} \ m/s

             h is the Planck's  constant with the value  h  =  6.626 *10^{-34} \ J \cdot s

             n is the number of pulses

So

      n =  \frac{E * \lambda }{h * c }

substituting values

       n =  \frac{80 *10^{-3} *  2780 *10^{-9}}{6.626 *10^{-34} * 3.0 *10^{8} }

       n =  1.119 *10^{18} \ photons

Given that the pulses where emitted 20 times in one second then the period of the pulse is

       T  =  \frac{1}{20}

      T = 0.05 \ s

Hence the average power of photons in one 80-mJ pulse during 1 s is mathematically represented as

       P  =  \frac{E}{T}

substituting values

       P  =  \frac{ 80 *10^{-3}}{0.05}

        P  =  1.6 \ W

A ball is thro.d hit the grouvelocity)?
kati45 [8]

Answer:

The velocity of the ball is 3.52 m/s.

Explanation:

A projectile is any object that moves under the influence of gravity and momentum only. Examples are; a thrown ball, a fired bullet, a kicked ball, thrown javelin, etc.

Given that the ball was thrown vertically upward on the top of a skyscraper of  height 61.9 m. So that the velocity can be determined by;

      u = \sqrt{\frac{2H}{g} }

Where: u is the velocity of the object, H is the height and g is the gravitational force on the object. Given that: H = 61.9 m and g = 10 m/s^{2}, then;

 u = \sqrt{\frac{2*61.9}{10} }

   = \sqrt{\frac{123.8}{10} }

u  = 3.5185

The velocity of the ball is 3.52 m/s.
