2*10^5= 200000

4*10^5= 400000

200000 + 400000= 600000

600000 in scientific notation is 6 × 10^5

Hope this helps.

Your hotdogs currently have a menu price of $2.80 + $.10 for extra sauerkraut. You want to include the sauerkraut in the cost an
jasenka [17]

Answer:

C) $3.77

Step-by-step explanation:

  • $2.80 + $0.10 = $2.90

  • Turn 30% into 0.30 by moving the decimal point (percentage sign) 2 places to the left.

  • To solve 30% of $2.90  →   0.30 x 2.90 = 0.87

  • Finally  $2.90 + $0.87 = $3.77

According to the manufacturer of the candy Skittles, 20% of the candy produced are red. If we take a random sample of 100 bags o
igomit [66]

Answer:

Probability that the proportion in our sample of red candies will be less than 20% is 0.5 .

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that 20% of the candy produced are red. A random sample of 100 bags of Skittles is taken.

The distribution we can use here is;

               \frac{\hat p - p}{\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1- \hat p)}{n} } } ~ N(0,1)

where, p = 0.20 and n = 100

Let \hat p = proportion of red candies in our sample

So, P(\hat p < 0.20) = P(\frac{\hat p - p}{\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1- \hat p)}{n} } } < \frac{0.20 - 0.20}{\sqrt{\frac{0.2 (1- 0.2)}{100} } } ) = P(Z < 0) = 0.5

Therefore, probability that the proportion in our sample of red candies will be less than 20% is 0.5 .

Which is the area of a circle with a radius of 5 units? (use 3.14 for )?
Sauron [17]
The area of a circle is A=πr².
Since π is about 3.14 we can substitute that into the equation.
So A=3.14×r²
We can substitute the given radius for r.
A= 3.14 × 5²
When a number is squared, or has the two over it, we multiply it by itself.
5 × 5= 25
A= 3.14 × 25
Simplify this and the area of the circle is about 78.5
A≈78.5
