Answer:  Third option is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

The quantity q varies inversely with the square of m and directly with the product fo r and x.

According to question,

q=k\frac{rx}{m^2}\\\\\text{ where k denotes constant of variation}

Since q=2.5, m=4, rx=8,

So, we put the value of all of theses in our above relation:

q=k\frac{rx}{m^2}\\\\2.5=k\frac{8}{4^2}\\\\2.5=k\frac{8}{16}\\\\2.5=k\frac{1}{2}\\\\2.5\times 2=k\\\\5=k

Hence, Third option is correct.

Q = k * (r*x)/m^2 ⇒ k = q*m^2 /(r*x)

k = 2.5 (4)^2 / 8 = 5

Find the slope (-2,-4) (-5,5)
diamong [38]

Answer:

Your answer would be Slope m = -3

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Graph the points on a <u>coordinate plane</u>( <em>refer to image!)</em>

Whenever your trying to find a slope of 2 order pairs, remember this

m = rise/run. ( Slope = rise over run.) = Δy/Δx

Now we solve:

M = rise/run = Δy/Δx

M = y2 - y1/x2-x1

M = 5 - (-4) / -5-(-2)

<u>So we get  M = 9/-3 and </u><u>9 divided by -3 is -3 </u>

<u />

So, the slope of (-2,-4) and (-5,5) is -3.

Each month for 7 months, Eve reads 3 books. How many more books does she need to read before she has read 30 books?
enot [183]
How many books has she read so far? She's been doing this for 7 months, so so far she's read:

7*3=21

how many does she still need to read?

30-21=9

so she needs to read 9 more books. With 3 books a month, this means:

9/3=3

so she needs to read 9 more books, which will take her 3 months!

What do I do to figure out this problem:<br>3x+8=26+x
Gnom [1K]
<span><u>3x + 8 = 26 + x</u>

The first thing you need to do is understand what you're looking for ...
what a 'solution' means, what it looks like, and how you even know
when you have it.    I'm not sure you're there yet.

The 'answer' or the 'solution' to the problem is a number.  It's the number
that 'x' must be in order for that line at the top to be a true statement.  There's
only one possibility.

To find it, you can do anything you want to either side of the problem, as long as
you do exactly the same thing to the other side too.  With that ability, here's how
to 'figure out the problem', and find the answer:

The original problem:      </span><span><u>3x + 8 = 26 + x</u>

Subtract 8 from each side:

3x = 18 + x

Subtract 'x' from each side:

2x = 18

Divide each side by 2 :

<u>x = 9 </u> .

That's what the answer looks like, and that's what the answer is.

' 9 ' is the ONLY number you can write in place of 'x' in the problem,
and have the problem read true.

I'll show you what I mean.  Let's take the original problem

                   </span><span> <u><span>3x + 8 = 26 + x

</span></u><span>and let's write ' 2 ' wherever we see 'x' :

3 (2) + 8 = 26 + 2

3 (2) means 3 times 2, and that's 6 .
So now we have

6 + 8 = 26 + 2

Do the addition on each side, and we have

14 = 28 .

That's nonsense.  14 is not equal to 28 .  The reason that happened
is because we put the wrong number in place of 'x' .  When we put the
correct number in place of 'x', the left side will be equal to the right side.
To 'figure out the problem' means to find out what that number must be.
For this particular problem, it's 9 .

How do you solve 5x-2y= 18 and -5x+3y= -22 by solving a system of linear equations by elimination? Please add the steps in which
MaRussiya [10]
Write the 2 equations:

5x-2y=18
-5x+3y=-22

You can see that the coefficients of x are opposites, so you can add them(the 2 equations) to eliminate x.

Adding them, you get:

y=-3

So now that you know y, you can substitute the value of y into one of the original equations. Let's substitute it in the first one:

5x+6=18

Solving this, we get:

5x=12
x=12/5

x=12/5, y=-3
