Answer:

Divide 12 by 4 first to figure out how many gallons are in each 1/4 of the tank.

12/4=3

So if I added another 1/4 to the capacity:

It could hold 15 gallons.

All you have to do to find how many half bottles can be filled is to times 15 by two since we are filling half gallon bottles.

15x2=30

30 bottles.

What is the value of x if a rectangle has a perimeter of 50, a length of x + 5, and width of 11?
Paraphin [41]

Answer:

x = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter = 2 * width + 2 * length

= 2*11 + 2(x + 5) = 50

2x + 10 + 22 = 50

2x = 50 - 10 - 22

2x = 18

x = 9

Please hurry! If you don't know it, that's okay.
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

The answer is (x,y)=(-10,-7)

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The solution comes from replace x= -10 into the equation of y=2/5 x -3.
  • Replacement of x= -10 into y = 2/5 x -3 results: y=\frac{2}{5}\times{(-10)}-3=2\times{(-2)} -3=-4-3=-7.

Position to term rule of 2, 6, 10, 14, 18<br><br> multiply by _____ and subtract by _____
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

Please check the explanation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the sequence

2, 6, 10, 14, 18

An arithmetic sequence has a constant difference and is defined as

\:a_n=a_1+\left(n-1\right)d

compute the differences of all the adjacent terms

6-2=4,\:\quad \:10-6=4,\:\quad \:14-10=4,\:\quad \:18-14=4

The difference between all the adjacent terms is the same.

Thus,

d=4

and

a_1=2

Therefore, the nth term is computed by:

a_n=4\left(n-1\right)+2

a_n=4n-2

Thus, position to term rule of 2, 6, 10, 14, 18  multiply by __4___ and subtract by __2__.
