Their momentum is the same.
momentum of dolphin=50kg*16.4m/s=820kg*m/s
momentum of elephant=4100kg*0.20m/s=820kg*m/s

Answer : The momentum is same for 50 kg dolphin and 4100 kg elephant.

Explanation :

Momentum : It is defined as the motion of a moving body. Or it is defined as the product of mass of velocity of an object.

Formula of momentum is:

p=mv

where,

p = momentum

m = mass

v = velocity

First we have to calculate the momentum for 50 kg dolphin swimming at 16.4 m/s.

Given:

m = 50 kg

v = 16.4 m/s

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

p=(50kg)\times (16.4m/s)

p=820kg.m/s

Now we have to calculate the momentum for 4100 kg elephant walking 0.20 m/s.

Given:

m = 4100 kg

v = 0.20 m/s

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get:

p=(4100kg)\times (0.20m/s)

p=820kg.m/s

From this we conclude that, the momentum is same for 50 kg dolphin and 4100 kg elephant.

Answer:

Ok, here we go...

Explanation:

Astronauts perform many tasks as they orbit Earth. The space station is designed to be a permanent orbiting research facility. Its major purpose is to perform world-class science and research that only a microgravity environment can provide. The station crew spends their day working on science experiments that require their input, as well as monitoring those that are controlled from the ground. They also take part in medical experiments to determine how well their bodies are adjusting to living in microgravity for long periods of time.

Working on the space station also means ensuring the maintenance and health of the orbiting platform. A ball is thrown directly downward with an initial speed of 8.50 m/s, from a height of 29.7 m. After what time interval does it
stellarik [79]
Using the following formula for linear-motion, the missing variable can be solved:

s = Vi * t + 1/2 (a * t^2)

Where: s = displacement = 29.7 m
Vi = initial velocity = 8.5 m/s
a = acceleration = 9.8
t = time = ?

Substituting:

29.7 = 8.5t + 1/2 (9.8*t^2)
29.7 = 8.5t + 4.9t^2

Dividing both sides by 4.9:

6.06 = 1.73t + t^2
t^2 + 1.73t - 6.06 = 0
(t - 1.74)(t + 3.48) = 0
t = 1.74s

From the above values, the correct answer is 1.74 seconds.

Which of the following is a possible measurement of velocity? A. 25 m B. 25 m/s C. 25 m east D. 25 m/s east
Kazeer [188]
Answer is B.
Because velocity is vector quantity, so magnitud and direction are needed to define it.
Since velocity means the speed(magnitude) of some object in a given direction, so it’s units are usually measured by meters/ seconds
