A x+4=0 x+1=0 so factores (x+4)(x+1)=0;  x^2+5x+4 is a factor. Divide it into x^4+5x^3+5x^2+4 and you get x^2+1 as the other factor which would be your other 2 roots (imaginary)

Answer:

The correct option is A.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that a quartic function has only two real zeros.

The degree of quartic function is 4. The function has only two real roots, therefore the roots has their multiplicity.

Put -1 and -4  for x. If the value of f(x)=0 at x=-4 and x=-1 then the function have two zeros -4 and -1.

y = x^4 + 5x^3 + 5x^2 + 5x + 4

Put x=-1

y = (-1)^4 + 5(-1)^3 + 5(-1)^2 + 5(-1) + 4=0

Put x=-4

y = (-4)^4 + 5(-4)^3 + 5(-4)^2 + 5(-4) + 4=0

Therefore option A is correct.

y = x^4 - 5x^3 - 5x^2 - 5x - 4

The value of y is 2 at x=-1 and 512 at x=-4, therefore option B is incorrect.

y = -x^4 + 5x^3 + 5x^2 + 5x + 4

The value of y is -2 at x=-1 and -512 at x=-4, therefore option C is incorrect.

y = x^4 + 5x^3 + 5x^2 + 5x - 5

The value of y is -9 at x=-1 and -9 at x=-4, therefore option D is incorrect.

Raymond just got done jumping at Super Bounce Trampoline Center. The total cost of his session was \$43.25$43.25dollar sign, 43,
rodikova [14]

Answer:

Raymond was for 29 minutes on the trampoline.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Total cost of session = $43.25

Entrance fee = $7

Cost per minute = $1.25

Let t be the minutes that Raymond was on the trampoline.

Thus, we can write

Total cost =

Entrance fee + cost per mute(minutes that Raymond was on trampoline)

C(t) = 7 + 1.25t

Putting the values, we get,

43.25 = 7 + 1.25(t)\\1.25t = 43.25 - 7\\1.25t = 36.25\\\\t = \dfrac{36.25}{1.25}\\\\t = 29

Thus, Raymond was for 29 minutes on the trampoline.

The y-intercept of a parabola is 1, and its vertex is at (1,0). What function does the graph represent
Lana71 [14]

Answer:

  Equation of function,   y = (x-1)²

Step-by-step explanation:

The general formula of a parabola symmetric about x - axis is given by (x-h)²=4a(y-k), where (h,k) is the vertex.

Here (h, k) = (1,0)

So, we have (x-1)²=4a(y-0)

                    (x-1)²=4ay

One point on the parabola is (0,1) since y intercept is 1.

Substituting

         (0-1)²=4 x a x 1

           1 = 4 a

           a=\frac{1}{4}

Equation of parabola,

    (x-1)^2=4*\frac{1}{4} *y\\ \\ (x-1)^2=y\\ \\ y=(x-1)^2

Equation of function,   y = (x-1)²

A classroom has 26 chairs and 16 computers. What is the ratio of computers to chairs?
Anna71 [15]

**THE PERSON UNDER ME IS ALSO CORRECT, THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WAY TO APPROACH RATIOS**

Explanation: Ratio seldom compares two numbers by dividing them (this depends on the problem). We are given A 16 computers and B 26 chairs. Therefore we have the formula of A/B.For example 16/26

Solving: Divide A by B: 16/26= 0.615 or 0.6

Multiple: Multiple the quotient by 100 in order to get the percentages. 0.615 x 100 = 61.5% (if you rounded 0.61, the answer would be 60%; for this problem I didnt round hence, 61.5%)

Answer: 61.5 %

Side note: I hope this helps, feel free to let me

know if you have anymore questions.
