<span>–1 + 6(–1 – 3x) > –39 – 2x.
Multiply the number outside of the parenthesis(6) by the numbers inside of the parenthesis(-1 and -3x)
-1 - 6 - 18x> -39 - 2x
Add 2x to both sides so that the x variable is only on one side
-1 - 6 - 16x> -39
Add 1 to both sides
-6 - 16x> -38
Add 6 to both sides
-16x> -32
Divide both sides by -16 so that the only thing that remains is the variable x on one side. Also, since you are dividing by a negative number, you automatically flip the greater than side to less than.
Final Answer: x< -2</span>

Write as an equation: Mike, Carroll, and Jim, empty their wallets and have $175 total. Mike has three times
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

  C.  j +2j + 3(2j) = 175

Step-by-step explanation:

Let j represent the amount of money Jim has.

Carroll has twice that amount, so has 2j.

Mike has 3 times the amount Carroll has, so has 3(2j).

The sum of these quantities is 175, so the equation can be written ...

  j + 2j + 3(2j) = 175 . . . . . matches choice C

The base is a square 16m 6m
Ostrovityanka [42]

base is a square 16m 6m

Step-by-step explanation:

A square is a regular quadrilateral and it has four equal sides and four equal angles (90 degree angle or right angles).

A square quadrilateral with vertices ABCD would be denoted by ABCD. The perimeter of a square (quadrilateral) is given by:

P = 4a

Where a is the length of each side.

Perimeter of the square:

P = 4a

P = 4 × 16 cm

P = 64 cm

Hence, the perimeter of square is 64 cm.

Find an equation of the tangent line to the curve 2(x2+y2)2=25(x2−y2) (a lemniscate) at the point (−3,1). An equation of the tan
valina [46]

2(x^2+y^2)^2=25(x^2-y^2)

Let y=y(x), so that differentiating both sides wrt x gives

4(x^2+y^2)\left(2x+2y\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}\right)=25\left(2x-2y\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}\right)

If x=-3 and y=1, the above reduces to

40\left(-6+2\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}\right)=25\left(-6-2\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}\right)\implies\dfrac{\mathrm dy}{\mathrm dx}=\dfrac9{13}

This is the slope of the tangent line, which has equation

y-1=\dfrac9{13}(x+3)\implies\boxed{y=\dfrac{9x+40}{13}}
