Basically when it says to "show work" it is telling you that you have to show how you did every step, in math which I'm pretty sure it's what you're wondering about you have to show how you multiplied, added or divided something and what you got as an answer, you can separate each step with an = (equal) sign

First, you need to be able to solve the problem
and get the correct answer.

In order to do that, you don't ask your dog for the answer,
and you don't take a nap and dream it, and you don't sprinkle
magic dust on the paper and make the answer appear.

You do some figuring, and some calculating, and some
reasoning.  THAT's your work !  Whatever you do to
find the answer, write it down next to the answer.
That's what's called 'showing your work'.

Answer:

1 = 3

2= 21/5

3=5/6

4=3/8

Step-by-step explanation:

1 explanation

3/4 (8/2) =

(3/4) (8/2)=

(3)(4)/(4)(1)

12/4 =3

2 explanation

7/1(3/5) =

(7/1 ) (3/5)  divide tht u get 21/5

3 explanation 5/6(1) =5/6

4 explanation

u rewrite the equation then

What is the solution set to the inequality 5(x - 2)(x + 4) > 0?
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

You selected the correct answer: {x | x <<em> </em>-4 or x > 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

5(x - 2)(x + 4) > 0

Use FOIL method to expand (x - 2)(x + 4):

5(x^{2} + 2x - 8) > 0

Distribute 5 into (x^{2} + 2x - 8)

5x^{2} + 10x - 40 > 0

Divide all terms by 5 from both sides of the inequality:

\frac{5x^{2}}{5}  + \frac{10x}{5}  - \frac{40}{5} > \frac{0}{5}

x^{2} + 2x - 8 > 0

Factor the trinomial:

(x + 4) ( x - 2)  > 0

x < -4 or x > -2

Therefore, the solution set to the inequality is {x | x < -4 or x > 2}

<em>Interval notation:  </em>(-∞, -4) ∪ (2, ∞)
